Also, Finnan can't get a game for Espanyol (apparently, according to Mr Michael ). He was abject last season and, IMO, was rightly ditched.
Probably because Espanyol have better full backs than us. Its harder to get your game for them!!

        Defences in Spain are crap.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Whoever said there was no leadership in midfield was spot on. It could have been a different game entirely if Alonso/Gerrard/Mascherano had started.

I slated Plessis after the Crewe game and in turn got slated myself but he's thrown away another opportunity to impress. Without someone to direct him the game completely passes him by. He's had a few chances now and doesn't look like a Liverpool player. Time to move him out on loan if any Prem team will have him or ship him out completely and let the next in line have an opportunity.

Rafa should treat the FA Cup in the same way as he has done this competition.

The reason why he can't get a game is becuase he's injured - he got injured in his first appearence against Barca

Oooohh oooohh, that was me At last someone agrees, I thought before the game we needed leaders through the spine, it might even have been better to start with Kuyt for 60 mins and replace him with Torres. There was no one to turn to in the middle and Lucas is not experienced enough to carry Plessis, who must be said is running out of chances.
                * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

On another note, WHAT THE HELL IS LUCAS PLAYING FOR? He must be savage in training, because he is terrible on the pitch.

Ohhh, he Brazilian!! So what!! My girlfriend has a Brazilian!! Should she play for Liverpool??

If half our defence has never had a good game how do you explain the fact we have the second meanest defence in the league?

                  Talk to Frank mate.

                      In defence of DEGEN

Prior to his injury last year he was first choice for the Swiss and Dortmond. That injury was a six month lay off and his first serious injury.

He was slowly getting back to match fitness when he got another serious injury. Last night was only his second competitive game for us.

So why is he being called a flop? In the two games he has played he has been painfully short of match fitness. And let's not forget that it can be veruy difficult to adjust to the Premier League. Time and time again it has been shown that it can take 6 months to a year for players to adjust. And that's when they're playing week in, week out.

Oh, and he also came on a free transfer, costing us nothing. I find it ridiculous that Dossena is already being judged, but the public deriding of Degen is even more pathetic.

They both may yet be flops, and have everything to prove. But both deserve a bit more time. Degen especially.

I accept that Degen is not fully match fit. However, some observations on Degen last night. He gave the ball away constantly over distances of no more than 10 odd yards. One pass he tried involved looping the ball over someonenes head directly to a spurs player standing in a dangerous position. This is the type of pass attempted by someone who has no skill/technique/wit/awareness/experience.

He is not a footballer nor will he ever be a footballer fit to grace the red shirt.
