If you love him so much I suggest you manage your time enought to go and see him.

Ok so your opinion doesnt meet with mine, so be it.

Getting back to the thread, Owen is not good enough for us nowadays, he doesnt offer enough to the team as he is not a team player (whereas Keane is), its all about himself, which leads us on to us being far to one dimensional as a team under Houllier when he was fit enough for incusion in the team

For the good of the team Keane is the best choice

Incredibly childish viewpoint, if i may say so.

Do you love Cristiano Ronaldo? No? Me neither. Is he a brilliant footballer? Yes. See how there can be a distinction?

Secondly, it might be worthwhile if you actually READ my posts, before you reply. I never said Owen would be a better choice than Keane. What i said was that he'd be a great option as third or fourth choice striker. Unless you think N'Gog is better than Owen, i think you'd have to agree with me.

As far as finishing and goalscoring is concerned, Owen is better than Keane. As far as being a team player and being fit to play, Keane is better.

I wouldnt have Owen INSTEAD of Keane, i'd have him as a different type of option.

squad player .. he is better than most when it comes to finishing - still

he is on mega bucks and no one is going to offer him that so if he was able to bite the bullet and take 30k - the pitance it is - then hell yeah

Owen would add something to our squad, hence i would take him. That's the only real criteria of importance.

Oh yeah, Gerrard & Co would love it if Owen got all the plaudits, wouldn't they?!!
Not doubting for one minute Owen's talent, but we got on fine without so we can do without his little circus as it would be a distractiion for the team & morale!

Most likely he would keep the physios working overtime with his injuries as they are already stretched with our other sicknote, Degen!

Win the league, then bring him in on a free but not while we are in pursuit! Remember what happened with Newcastle when they brought in Asprilla!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Think it shows just how good Owen was when he was at Liverpool, people are never hurt or annoyed when crap leaves the club. He clearly hurt a lot of people when he left as on so many occasions he was our saviour.
Will always have a soft spot for him he was a great player and its a real pity he left and then turned his back on us again for Newcastle.

I agree Keane is a better player than Owen is now, but Owen not being clinical is complete bollocks. His goals to shots ratio was consistently one of the best in the league; only Shearer's was ever regularly better and even then not by much.

He may hasve scored a few more but he wouldn't have set up the one's Keane has so swings and roundabouts.

I'd have Owen back at Liverpool a lot of water under the bridge for me and I'll never forget the goals he scored for us.

I'm glad we signed Keane and not Owen though he offers more and he is what we need right now.

Do you honestly think carra would be looking at his title winners medal and be thinking "Well, it's pretty good like. But Owen got more plaudits than me, so i'm not really sure if i want it" ?

I think Gerrard and Carra would be mature enough to realise that in general, the team and the club would be getting collective plaudits and they'd be absolutely delighted.

Furthermore, if Owen DID get all the plaudits (which i think is a very odd assumption to make), i still think they wouldnt give a monkey's, they'd be ecstatic to have finally realised the dream of winning the title.

He wouldn't have been playing against Bolton, he'd have been injured.

Michael Owen + some Liverpool fans = junkies + heroin. Get over him already.

Would take him back in January for 5m if we could. Could be a good asset in the tight games down the stretch.

he was playing for Newcastle on the same weekend. So, not actually injured, just 'injured' to suit an agenda.

Who's not over him? I've said he'd make a good 3rd or 4th choice striker. I'm clearly thinking about him hourly, eh?
