we had bought ickle mikey instead of robbie keane

how many goals do you think he would of scored if he had played in the same games as keane had ?

Probably more, but how fit has Owen been this season? He seems to have hardly played for Newcastle.

Anyway it's all pointless conjecture. How do we know if some of the chances Keane has missed would even have been created in the first place with Owen in the team? Different strikers require different systems and are involved in the build up, team play etc in different ways.

Keane isn't the only player missing chances for us this season. Look at the Bolton and Spurs league games - Alonso, Gerrard, Lucas, Kuyt etc have all missed sitters too. That said, Keane's form in front of goal is starting to worry me slightly, but I still think he'll come good.

      Is the right answer.

Yes, he was too busy missing sitters against Wigan.
          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

My granny wouldn't have missed that one, let alone Owen.

These things happen though. It will only become an issue if something happens like the Spurs match again i.e missing sitters costs us points.

Glad to hear your granny has got over her hamstring problems and is back playing, Slim.

True. He scored in the end but he did miss a very simple chance before that. My granny would have slotted that one away.......

Thanks Neil. Annoyingly just as she is getting back to form she's received an international call up for a pointless friendly against Lesotho.

Owen missed a genuine sitter in their loss at Fulham last Monday

He missed the same number of sitters in that game as Keane missed in ours.

Craig, if I may say so, sometimes you take things too seriously.
