Not saying someone was caught doing it, i was just referring to Nicey's comment that players are apparently doing it.

Whatever way anyone dresses this up though, there's no way anyone can legitimately claim that being photographed swigging from a bottle of whiskey, outside a nightclub, is a good thing.

Well I'm with Neil as well, so yes it is a mad world. His post earlier referring to the morals and ethics of the media was absolutely ****ing spot on

No one's answered my question yet, of why we dont see Gerrard, Carragher, Torres, Reina, Alonso etc etc in this situation.

What situation exactly? You're making it in to a big deal which it is not.

No-one is claiming that though so that's beside the point.

What bothers you here - the fact he's consuming alcohol, the fact he's drinking it from the bottle, the fact he's doing it in public, the fact he's doing it outside or the fact the incident has been photographed?
                  .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Mate, that is a bit of an outrageous thing to post IMO and you should quickly retract those comments.

The bottom line is this is about Pennant out in public with a bottle of whisky in his hand. Its not about anyone else or what anyone else might be doing.

Fact is Pennant was caught in this position and it does not reflect well on him. Innocent or not it is not professional, that is all.

Sure it has really divided opinions on here but try and see how Rafa would feel about it and then you have your answer if it was acceptable or not.

Of course that is what you were claiming Neil, and now you are swerving your original point.

What bothers me is that he was drinking in public. That is all. The fact that it has been photographed is not a huge issue - comes with the territory and if he has not realised that yet Pennant is thicker than he looks, if that is possible.

Don't tell me what I was claiming. I know what I think about it. I said it wasn't edifying or advisable behaviour so I've never said it was OK. Perhaps you should read my posts more carefully in future so you don't misunderstand them.

My point is that it's not worth lynching the bloke for it.

I'm honestly staggered that you dont seem to think there's anything wrong with it. It's clearly unprofessional, it doesnt portray him well and it just makes him look like he doesnt really care about whether his career is going down the toilet, or not. It's disrespectful to the fans who pay his wages.

Who's actually 'lynching' him Neil? I thought we were just criticising him and saying it was a stupid thing to do?

Nothing like a bit of hyperbole to emphasise your point

FFS read what I wrote. You're jumping to the conclusion I think the exact opposite of you just because I don't agree entirely with you think.

I think it was unprofessional, stupid and not the right thing to do.

Which of those three do you disagree with?
