What opinion on the topic did he actually give? I like dww and i think he's a top poster and a very good mod. But the general rule of thumb with threads or people that posters dont like, is to ignore them. I just didnt see the point of that post, that's all. I certainly wasnt meaning to have a go at him.

As for me - vilifying someone? I'm criticising Pennant. And, as you've already pointed out the thing about people being entitled to express their opinions, i dont see why i shouldnt do so. I also dont see what's to be 'appalled' about.

There is a big difference between the evidence that we have to hand, and the accusations you are making.

Firstly, Pennant has been photographed in a position that suggests he is 'binge-drinking', a situation which is legal, but perhaps not a good look, with the way the gutter press in Britain pretend to take a wholly than thou attitude, while being very happy to promote the behaviour as a means to sell papers. (Mind you, If I had signed for Liverpool, and then couldn't get into the side, I would probably turn to booze as well).

Secondly, you make an unsubstantiated claim that players are using illegal substances, and then fail to give any shred of evidence, or be specific. That is as helpful to the discussion as me suggesting anyone wearing Nike football gear is a drug-dealer.
