    Celtic vs Liverpool Legends (C5)

    What's that about then.
    7:45pm tonight on Channel 5.
Is this similar to the '86 rematch that they did a while back with Barnes, Daglish, Rush, Molby etc?

I think the Liverpool Legends play a few games each season to raise money for various charities.

yeah the marina charity and something else i think.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

        Tsunami.

They play abroad as well. I think Alan Kennedy is a major hand in organising it all

          Ahh,
Might be worth a look though. Always good to see your childhood heros wheezing about the pitch. Should make me feel a bit better when I play on Sunday.

I've Sky Plussed it. Worth watching? These games are often terribly dull.

If you're of a certain age, then possibly, if not - just FF it, then it might just look ok, but it would still be only at half pace of today's standards!

Yer bit dissapointed, Kenny only played about last 8 minutes, macca didn't look that arsed, and we were a bit light defensively, but hey it was for charity.

Like someone said above, good to watch if those players rekindle memories of times gone by, but they might also kill the memories you had of them. Some rather porky guys out there considering they play masters footy, and seem to do a lot of charity matches. Was suprised to see Hansen last as long as he did as well.

he still has better movement off the ball than any of our current forwards. see that arched run he did to try & stay onside? quality.
