Yes but if we don't beat West Ham by at least nine goals we're going to get relegated..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

And rightly so, he's been poor. Let's not dress it up, he has been rubbish. It's clear he needs time, but how much time can we give him? That is the key. He has got a lucky break with Aurelio getting injured and he now has a chance he may otherwise not have got, a three game run in the team.Originally posted by Assassin View PostDossena is getting some harsh treatment in here. I think he just needs a bit more time adapt. There was 2 occasions on Saturday where he managed to block 2 goal bound efforts
If by the time Aurelio is fit to play he is still out of his depth then it may be right to let go in January and take a chance on another left back. In an ideal world he'd get until the end of the season at least, but with the injury prone Aurelio we need someone who would be capable of filling in at left back for a large spell of games. By that I mean five months, not the odd game where a player would fill in for a few minor starins or suspensions.
If we were out the title race I wouldn't care so much. But we need top performers in each position.
So, for me, Dossena has until January to show a marked improvement. I don't expect the finished product, but I do expect to see an improvement. As Rage says he is an international, not some kid. He should be at his peak right now.
I will be watching tonight and will be hoping just like everyone on this site that he gives a top performance.Forwards.......

Dossena was good tonight. Did manage some good crosses and some wonderful diagonal balls. Good player who needs confidence.

He still has to work on his defending yes but hey, it's his first season in a very different league. He's done alright for me, we're top of the league.Originally posted by Reggie View PostI won't argue that he was prob our best player, but he didn't really have to do a great deal of defending which is where he has really looked poor so far this season.
Still don't get me wrong, it was an encouraging performance for him - hope it gives him the confidence to kick on.

I'd go along with that, played it nice and safe when in possesion, overlapped Riera and put in a few good crosses, still a sad state of affairs when Dossena is our best player against a team like West HamOriginally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostWell one positive from tonight was the performance of Dossena. Our best player tonight IMO.We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

I think he played it nice and safe from the back most of the time, but he hit a few superb long passes including one outstanding cross-field ball. His crossing was top notch - we just lacked numbers in the box, as per usual, and/or didn't have anyone attacking the space. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

And Stevie G trying to do it all by himself. I don't think he has confidence in our forward line at the moment as he isn't playing balls to them on a regular basis.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostI think he played it nice and safe from the back most of the time, but he hit a few superb long passes including one outstanding cross-field ball. I don't know why we're not committing men forward as we seem to do that a lot 2 months ago, especially when we were chasing games. There's a lack of confidence going through the team at the moment.
There's still Blackburn and Hull and another great performance at Arsenal to get us going again.
