doseena had his best game in a liverpool shirt. yippee he's moved up from being turd to average.

on a serious note somebody please tell me what he offers more than riise did?
Well he can actually cross a ball for a start.

Happy for Doss, he had a nice game, couple of awesome cross field balls, and quite a few nice crosses. Wish our midfielders (Gerrard) would attack them like Ballack, Cahill etc etc do. He's a great headerer of the ball...dont know why he sits back waiting for the defence to clear it all the time.

            Does my head in mate.

Gerrard should be steaming in for the late header ala Cahill and Ballack. He's just as good in the air, has a big leap and is not afraid of contact.

It perplexes me TBH. He would get loads more goals if he did this.

Leave Xabi to tidy up the clearances. Get yerself in the box Gerrard!!

              Hope.

There's always hope when a new player comes in, and Dosser is more inclined to cross rather that shoot on site ala Riise.

We'd seen the best of Riise and he was on the slide IMO.

Yeah, agree that Dossena was our best player tonight. As well as his crossing and cross-field passes, I was impressed how hard he worked to get back when we lost the ball and he was in an advanced position - a couple of time he rocketed back to get back in position.

                More of this please Andrea.

One game shouldn't change your overall opinion on a player mate whether it be an amazing one or a complete disaster.

Last night he looked as though all the things we bought him for were starting to happen. Overlapping runs, good crosses and decent in posession. I'll always remeber Riise fondly but he was severely lacking in all those areas in the last couple of seasons he had with us. Dossena is just starting his Liverpool career and it's taking time for him to settle. Last night he showed enough to suggest we should be patient with him.

Dossena has composure in possession and more often than not chooses the right option going forward, provides us with width and is a good crosser for a full back.

Riise shot at every opportunity from every angle and very few of them got within 10 yards of the goal let alone in it.

                      Riise was/is ginger.

Didn't watch the game but glad to hear that he did well.

I was listening to the 5live commetary towards the end of the first half, and Alan Green was saying to Jan Molby that he has heard Dossena could be back off to Italy sooner rather than later.

Dossena hugged the touchline so closely it was almost as though he wasn't on the pitch for 80 mins of the game! And with his great left foot (much better and more accurate than Riise's) it didn't matter that Riera played as a third central midfielder.

Now we need someone to attack his crosses while Torres is out.

Great performance and he is just what we need a very attacking full back, if he can keep on playing like that it will be an amazing help to the team.

Great all round performance by Dossena, he gave us another dimension on the left flank last night, shame nobody took advantage of some of his work. Hopefully it will continue, well made up for him
