Big game. The resultant differences between winning this game and not could have a big bearing on our confidence to challenge at the end. So for that alone it is our biggest game so far, although you could make a argument for Standard Leige.

I hope we do hit them hard and score early. Realy, really want to make a statement tonight.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Agree- altho might play Sami at CB & Jamie at LB ahead fo the tragic Dossena. Kuyt should be ahead of Keane tho- that's when they worked best together (against WBA). Babel needs to be given- and take- a chance at some point too.

This really is massive now- not just for taking top spot, but also to maintain the distance between the League leaders & Scum. Gotta make em suffer for their poor start this season, as noone did last.

Off to this tonight- better be much better than we have of late.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Massive game IMO. Really nervy TBH, If they come to defend that is. If they come to play I'll be happy as we will get chances.

        I'll tip 1-0 to us

I can see this being another tense night if we don't bury an early chance.

Hopefully we'll be a few goals to the good by half time cos I'm playing 5-a-side at 9pm.

Think that would be a bit unfair on him, hasnt he only played about 20minutes for the reserves this season? Im sure he'd relish the chance but I dont think he'd be anywhere near his best physically.

Tonight is a huge game. Win this and we can really start to take command of the league. I've always said I think we'll win it if we are within 6 points of the leaders on Jan 1st. There's a very real possibility that we could actually BE the leaders if we can win tonight and keep the run going.

The crowd have a huge part to play though. We've got to have patience and get behind them. We're not going to be a goal up by half time in every home game, and if tonight starts to look like another Fulham or Stoke then we need to get behind the team and spur them on, not start groaning at every misplaced pass or shot. The tension feeds its way onto the pitch when we start doing that.

Me too, though I wouldn't mind too much if he picked Mascher and put Gerrard out on the right. Kuyt has to start as the furthest forward though. I'd love to see Insua get a chance at left-back, but I suppose there is an argument for perservering with Dossena. He's not looking the part though so far.

Stoke v Liverpool, 17:30 Torres will be back.In between is a FA cup game though. In december we have 6 games, 3 of them at home and the last away game is the 28th. We could rest him for almost the entire month IMO.

Most of these teams would probably play deep against us anyway and limit the space for Torres.
Is he really not due back until then? Thought he was due back befor Christmas

Think he is hoping to be back for the Arsenal match.

He has a Delorean complete with flux capacitor. I believe he tried it first with his Nissan Micra but was unable to attain the necessary 88mph.
