    Statement from Vegard Heggem

I saw this on TLW. I've not seen this posted on here so....

Tore from liverpool.no has asked me to post this on behalf of Vegard. He's sent it to lfc.tv and wants it posted on all the forums just to set the record straight.

"It's been brought to my attention that the Sun has printed a story with quotes from me. I want to state that I am aware of the history between the Sun Newspaper and Liverpool FC, and I would never give an interview to this newspaper. I gave an interview to a journalist from the Swedish newspaper "Dagens nyheter" on Wednesday where I commented on Steven Gerrard, and the quotes are taken from this interview. I am very sad that this has happened, and I hope that Liverpoolfc.tv: Official Web Site
will assist me in getting a message out to the fans of Liverpool FC that an interview with the Sun never took place.

    Thanks.

    Vegard Heggem"
    Well done Veg

Shame his career was cut short through injury.

I don't know but Gerrard replaced him as a sub on his debut 10 years ago.
              Oh I don't know.

I reckon Veggie would walk into this team if he were still 25 or so.
                Really?

Was he a left or right back?

I think he was a right back, but I'm not sure.

                    right back

he was very quick, could defend well but it was his ablility to support the attack that made him stand out - could have been a great player for us, such a shame his career was jinxed with injury.

He's 33 now so I guess its possible he could still have been playing for us if he hadn't had the injury problems.

                        Rafa would have loved Veggie.

rafa wouldn't have played this lad, far too much flair for a rafa type player.

he was quality though, we went through a bad patch with a few quality right backs that got ruined by injury.
