booing when we draw and go top is out of order in fact pathetic.

maybe we are the best fans in the world when we are loosing and back up against the wall but when we go top of the league

me i prefer to be playing bad and top of the league than playing well and mid table. call me stupid.

only gripe is stevie should be the support forward.
but maybe Masher dip in form has forced Stevie back in the middle.
Is the booing thing aimed at my post?

Gerrard made lots of strange desicions towards the end yesterday. It looked like he`d lost all faith in his teammates and went for some long range shots when we had players in better positions. Yes, he has saved us many times before, but the late goals we`ve scored earlier this season is due to the team sticking together until the final whistle.

i think this post match thread is summing up peoples loss of belief.

west ham weren't that great defensively. fulham were much better. but we're getting worse as an attacking threat and have no options to change things it seems.

i lost belief in our ability to mount a challenge and consequently, i lost belief in rafa as a title winning manager. i also want to throttle in stevie g. his performance was absolutely shocking. a team parks the bus so you pass your way around them, he ruined half of our attacks by taking pot shots. wtf was he playing at?

im pretty disgusted in them today frankly. we should be going for it and playing at the top of our game and winning these 'easy' fixtures. instead we're faltering. that is so very, very disappointing.

      ----------------------------

as an aside, i started a thread las night called champions. aimed at saying that unfortunately, it looks like we don't have what it takes. went to bed and its gone this am. was it deleted?

Bloody hell if you lot don't believe how are are the players meant to believe. Get a grip the lot of you. We are top of the league, and no one, I repeat no one, is on great form this year. Chavs look vulnerable and Man Ure do too. We are in with a shot people, keep the faith.

Not winning against Stoke, Fulham and West Ham are examples of why may not win the title on our own merit this year (we may end up hoping that Chelsea etc drop points).

BUT if you said to me in August that we would be top on 2nd December and in the title run in, I would take that in a heartbeat.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

"On our own merit" my arse! If we win it it will be because we were the best team in a bloody difficult league this year, where there really arent any easy games like there have been in the recent past.

Well, first time in the Kop for me, could've been a better experience!

Poor performance all round with our best chances coming through old faithfull Hyypia. That sums it up really.

Keane is a big problem at the mo, he's offering very little at all. A striker needs to scare the opposition, and our problem is that without Torres, teams are happy to absorb pressure because both Keane and Kuyt are really no goal threat.

Plenty of times it seemed to me that Gerrard was too deep.

Ngog was way out of his depth, should've put Babel on instead at that stage I think.

Dissapointing, the Mancs are right back in it again now. What a difference a weekend makes. This bad patch is going on a bit now though and if we don't buck our idea's up (which is going to be hard without Torres) I can see us being 3rd come the 2 week in January.

"If Gerrard continues to play up front, leaving this lack of creativity and intelligence in Midfield, the season WILL be over by Xmas."

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

Rafa is not giving Robbie 90mins, I’d like to see the amount of games he's completed for us because it won’t be many if any. Fair enough he wasn't really in the game last night but who was? Sometimes you need to be persistent with strikers out of form and they need the minutes to get back on the goal trail, especially when you've got boys like N'Gog to replace them!

Yossi for me is/was never good enough for Liverpool and did not offer anything going forward last night. I really would like to see Babel deployed somewhere on the pitch, because he was too good for the bench last night and maybes a spell on the right or up front!

Dossena and Sami both very encouraging performances but this is our bread & butter for the title and please god we’re not looking back at these blips come May!!

Confidence is a bit part of football as we have seen in previous seasons, I remember last year when it looked like we wouldnt score then went on a winning run. Hopefully last night should help out Dossena, now all we need is a couple of goals for Keane.

Robbie's had plenty of time now and its not like he's new to the premiership. He may be getting subbed, but he's still getting 70 minutes almost every game. I agree he wasn't the only one last night, but this offering nothing is all too commonly associated with him since his move.

You need your striker to be a threat, but without Torres we have none.

Thats what I find funny people keep bleating on about how we are playing but ignore the fact that Chelsea, United and Arsenal have been just as bad if not worse.
People seem to refuse to accept that the league is just so much harder this year with the teams below spending a lot more than usual. There are no easy matches now a days and we have to accept that we wont win every match.

Tonnes of hyper-negative stuff on here. I've barely said a word mate, just a couple of posts and even then, nothing that negative.

Service was poor last night to both front men and Kuyt was dropping in like another midfielder. Was only once last night when a through ball was made and that was poor! A lot of Keane's goals have been feeding off centre midfielders playing balls through! I agree he has nowhere near been on his game but you need to be persistent, think it took Crouchy about 15 games before he broke his duck!!

The worry i have is that we appear to be bottleing it when we have the opportunity to really make a statement and announce our title credentials, if we are to win the league this year it is obviously going to be a tight race and i can't see us holding our nerve in that situation unfortunately.

I am normally positive about the team but the last couple of weeks have been a major let down.

something that stood out for me.

First one (according to the news this morning) was that was West Hams first point at anfield in 9 years. 9 years!! We must be beating these teams in a championship winning year, but we werent beaten. I think the players are too used to the "underdog" tag and as carragher said - we need to deal with a different pressure now, the pressure of being on top.
