We cant cope without Torres, Keane just isnt up to it and although we can try to look on the positive side..... sometimes reality has to bite. We are top of the league, but as someone pointed out only because others dropped points. If Utd or Chelsea were in our position last night then they would have beaten WH, it was the sort of game at the critical point in the season where you need to stamp your authority on the premiership, that is exactly what Utd and Chelsea (under Maureen) would have done.

If we won last night it would have sent the right messages to Chelsea, meanwhile as Manure beat Citeh with 10 men we would have stood up and said "no you dont son". As it stands, Chelsea are thanking their lucky stars and Manure must be thinking this is theirs for the taking... 1/2 the battle for titles is mental strength, im not sure we have it.....

We'd have to go on a seriously bad run for that to happen. They're 5 points off us at the moment and they go to play the Super Cup game mid December, so think you're a bit pessimistic there fella

yup earlier on we were shopwing so much more bottle to take teams on and get 3 points. Maybe its a fitness thing? maybe we're in a comfort zone?

Every team that has ever been top at any point, in any league, in any season, has been top because others have dropped points. The only time this wouldn't be the case would be if a team won 100% of their games. You can always say 'oh, if the other teams had won more of their games we wouldn't be top' but the fact is they haven't. Teams will always drop points the aim is just to drop fewer points than the others; something we are currently doing.

Good points. Whatever it is needs sorting fast. It's easy to say in hindsight but even after 15 minutes that game had 0-0 written all over it.

When we're without Torres and playing below-par we're far too easy to fend off.

You have to admit it's worrying considering how long it's taken us to get out of similar ruts in the past few seasons.

If United or Chelsea were playing well I would be more worried, but since both of them seem to be in the same boat and not playing well I wont throw in the towel just yet.
Agree with you it is important for us to get our act together quickly if we want to remain top. Whatever team from the top 3 gets their act together quickest will probably go on to win the league.
I just dont see the point in going overboard after a couple of terrible performances. United are going to find it very hard later in the season with a big backlog of matches specially if they do well in Europe and the FA Cup. Chelsea seem very dodgy at the minute especially in the big matches.

I think we have to watch out for United. I have this crazy feeling that Chelsea are about to implode (maybe too strong a word) but I cant help thinking something may be happening there

I havent read all the pages of this thread, and yes I am very dissapointed with the draw last night.

I am not going to swear and shout, but I sincerely hope that all of the people, not supporters or fans, you are not that, who booed at the end last night are picked out on CCTV and have their tickets removed and never let in Anfield again.

You really are a pack of complete k***s and d*******s and I dont want you any where near to my club.

By all means critise, moan, complain, but for gods sake we are top of the league and through in the CL. How many other clubs would swap with us, Ill tell you, 91.

Go and play championship manager where you win 6-0 every week, in the real world that doesnt happen.

Was a bit embarrassing imo, i well....felt ashamed, and thought how do i defend it to fans of other clubs, who i know would be thinking... ungrateful ****s.

I wanted the win as much as anyone, but before the game was realistic enough to know that football is'nt so black and white as to guarantee it.

This season is going to be long and hard, and out of the 3 sides with a so called chance of winning the title we are the least well equipped at present, a lot needs to go right for us to win this, imo.

When was the last time we went top of the league and got booed off ffs?

                          Not acceptable that.

When was the last time you spent 40 quid on a ticket?

Like I said last night I can't condone booing but at the same time fans at the game aren't performing seals.
