    Man City and Torres

    According to BBC gossip column:

"Manchester City are determined to spend £70m to sign a "world superstar" in the January transfer window with Kaka, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres, Carlos Tevez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Samuel Eto'o all in the frame. (Independent)"

With Torres' hamstring injuries this season, and the school of thought that they will affect him to the extent that he will no longer be the player he once was, would you go for it??

I'm not as sure as I would have been before the injuries.. but wouldn't. But 70m could buy a lot of player..

Well, on one hand we're doing well thus far without him.

On the other hand I think we will start flagging if he doesn't come back.

      So no. I wouldn't.

70m would get us a damn site closer to the other leaders squad wise but. But then again if we sell a player who clearly loves us for a tidy profit we'd lose a part of what attracts players to us I think.

To do so would send a terrible message

It would encourage great players to look to jump ship

Wouldn't sell him for double that.

I woulden't he is a world-class striker and still very young with potential to develp even further. He might have a few injury problems this season, but I am not worried, more or less every player goes through one such spell in his career. If he was closing in on 30 or his name was redknapp it would be another matter.

Selling out the best player material shows a lack of ambition and not a path to be taken unless the player really wants to leave.

The owners would if they could but we wouldn't see f'all of it in the current scheme of things.

£70 mill is nowhere near enough, I said yesterday Id sell him for £200 mill but someone pointed out that as a result all other players we were interested would become hugely pricey, so my offer to city is now this - Build us the first super stadium we had plans for and we will gift wrap Fernando and drive him over. However we want a buy back clause!

Wouldnt sell him and there is no way he would go there. He wants Champions League football why would he go to a team struggling near relegation?

Would be a bit odd if they did sign Torres, paid for the stadium and Torres was playing in a stadium he paid for for them in a few years
