Think it was mid-Feb that we started to push on 'cos it started after we got beat by Barnsley if I remember rightly.
I think it was from Inter onwards we amassed more points than the top two which is a pointless stat IMO as United won the league and the stat shows that we had a game in hand. Yes, it does prove we can finish strongly however from past experience, so do United.

. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
at the start of the season I said that I'd be happy with a close 3rd place and anything else would be a bonus ....... but now I'm starting to get greedy
Looking through the history of the Premier League a team that wins the title is usually in the race the season before.
Man Utd came a close second to Leeds in 92, Blackburn came a close second to Man Utd in 94, Chelsea were a close second to Arsenal in 2004.
So it is unlikely that we will win the title this year. It is normally a natural progression after gaining the experience of being in a title race. As we have never been in one I think history suggests that this would be the season where we come close, and next season would be where we win it.
But history, stats and records are always ready to be broken.
Is anyone still stunned at how well we're doing?
I am.
Lets keep it going
"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

I have long maintained this. You have to deal with losing one before you learn how to win it. I'm sure there's many exceptions but I've always espoused this particular theory.
The fly in the ointment, of course, is our experience of pressure, cup-tie games in white-hot arenas like the Champions League, none of the teams you mentioned would have had that back when they were faced with making the leap. We might be closer to graduation than we realise...
It's almost the same as that dickhead Kezman before the 2nd leg of the CL semi against the Chavs in 2005. He said something like 'the Anfield atmosphere won't intimidate us'.

did valencia lose one before they won it? no-idea hence why i'm genuinely asking.
i think after xmas we'll still have a far fresher team then we have had in the past.
if dossena and aurelio can do a job at left back and we have someone to rotate with torres i think our squad has everything it takes to be in the chase till the end this year. the more i think about it the more i think buying owen is a no brainer
The bonus this year (or could be) is that we're sat at the top of the league with almost no input from our best striker (the leagues best striker) if we can get him injury free and on top form for the last 4 months of the season we surely have a good chance.

totally agree with this point and its my main source of hope that this year we can actually win it
there's basically 40mill of proven premiership striking talent that we've had little from so far this season yet we're still top.
even with just nando coming back and hitting top form we've a great chance. but ffs, imagine robbie can click into the team, get into the groove and actually start finishing off his chances whilst continuing to make some for others.
