Rafa today seemed quite keen on getting a home advantage in the second leg. I remember chelsea complaining that they met us away from home in the second leg of the semi (got to pick my words carefully here ) finals we have meet in the last few seasons.

I still think it is good to have, not the biggest difference out there but every bit helps.

In lots of ways I want Chelsea to go out today. Normally I'd think the loss of games would help their PL chances but I really think the disruption it would cause would even that out - possible loss of Scolari, certainly a lot of Abramovich anger.

Oh don't get me wrong, I'd definitely prefer them to go out today

I just don't think they will.

No but as I'm going to have to work this evening and possibly all night I'm clinging to the prospect as the only spot of brightness in my day

The problem is, for Chelsea to go out, Bordeaux would also have to win in Rome (as well as Chelsea failing to beat Cluj at Stamford Bridge). Either event is very unlikely. Both happening together is nigh on impossible.

True but still nice to dream.

Agreed.. We've spent years of struggling to play Champions League football so I don't really want to avoid playing the "bigger" teams.

Bring on Madrid, Barca, Milan! thats the whole point of this competition IMO

                    Would love to play madrid!

IMO they have a good team on paper, however they do not work as a unit as much as other teams. Thats what drags them down.

We have a good chance no matter who we play, we are decent in europe and no one, given the choice, wants to play us.

was at the barca/valencia game at the weekend which barca won 4 nil, they look great and are fantastic going forward but i still fancy torres against their defense to get something.
also, i have to say that messi is an unbelievable player. he has the engine and workrate of kuyt but when he attacked the valencia back 4, he was nearly unstoppable. most of the time he got hacked down but never complained unlike a supposed world class player in mancland.

sums it up for me Maybe its because we've won it but I've been dreaming of getting Madrid for the past few years. A absolute belter of a draw, def what being in Europe is all about (Real Madrid at Anfieldh & as the rest have said... they'll be the ones ****ting themselves, not us!

Totally agree but we all know that a draw with Inter is now absolutely nailed on!

Other than his obvious brilliance, that is the one thing I love about Messi - the way he tries to ride challenge after challenge, rather than go down for the free kick. Amazing player, love watching him play. Annoyingly he was injured when I went to the Nou Camp a couple of years ago.

                                We could get:

                                Real Madrid
                                Inter Milan
                                Bayern Munich
                                FC Porto
                                Villareal
                                Sporting

Had we finished 2nd, we could have drawn:

                                Barcelona
                                Roma
                                Panathinaikos
                                Lyon
                                Juventus

So, it would have definitely been easier for us had we finished 2nd.
