it's all too easy to be negative and say, "well they should look good playing against that ****e" -
Yes but doing what you say would mean opinions are meaningless and worse make every comment look ****ing bonkers.
Lets say I was to praise Lucas after that performance last night, which I have, he played well and im pleased for him, but then saturday he was rubbish again, id be saying - "lucas was awesome against psv, what a player, the player we all wanted him to be, the brazilian young player of the year etc etc etc"
Then - "****ing hell Lucas was complete dog**** today against Hull, ****s sake he wouldnt even get into the reserves with that performance"
Then - "what a player against blythe spartans in the cup, amazing talent ..."

      You see where im going?

Personally id rather stick to my opinion and say that until he has proven otherwise. 1 game does not make him any better than the mediocre player we have seen up to now in his Liverpool career is all im saying.

His overall commitment was a lot better than it has been in a long time. Jokes apart but I think the booing really did have a positive influence (not that I will ever agree with booing our own). It’s a sign of good character that.

i see where your coming from i do, and whilst i agre, and i haven't like some, gone completley overboard as I know there is a long way for him too go - but i am just asking for you some of yer to stop being such bloody miserable *******s

i think the point i am trying to make, with regards your example thingy above is - is it not better to say

"lucas was awesome against psv, what a player, the player we all wanted him to be, the brazilian young player of the year etc etc etc"
Then - "****ing hell Lucas was complete dog**** today against Hull, ****s sake he wouldnt even get into the reserves with that performance"
Then - "what a player against blythe spartans in the cup, amazing talent ..."
            than

****ing hell - lucas was crap again last night against psv
then - ****ing hell why did he play against hull, he is wank
then ****ing hell he was woeful against byth spartans in the cup - what a cunt he is

haha i think what i am trying to say is, a few weeks ago the above in bold was exactly what the problem was - lucas couldn't put a performance in against The Red Lion in the Wirral Sunday 3rd's let alone play for liverpool! - so surely any signs of improvement can only be positive regardless of the opposition and it's only fair that as supporters of the club we give the players praise when deserved

Despite what you said about not agreeing with it, how are you not condoning booing?

I agree that his response might be a sign of good character (or good management, both, something else or more) but surely saying it has had a positive result gives licence to people to do it again in future.

That's the wrong way to go IMO, especially since we don't really know what effect it had on him.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Personally I thought we were average in the first half and merely good in the second, psv were dog**** bad whilst Lucas, Keane, Babel, Riera all looked good id have been ****ing devastated if they hadnt!

On another note until he scored Ngog was so ****ing bad we were basically playing with 10 men, after the goal he was ok so ill give him that.

                Good win against terrible opponents.
                amen to that

he had a good game last night but one swallow doesnt make a summer.

hopefully this performance will help him kick on and grow into the potential player rafa saw a few years ago.

for me the jury is still out here and i would love nothing more than to be proved wrong

                    good luck to the lad
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Dont really see were you are going at all. You say you are praising him but you dont think we should be or something? He deserves big praise for last night as he was very good.
He is suffering the same as Babel and not getting enough game time. They are both in the same boat, when they played regulary last year they were a lot better than their showings in early season. To say he only plays well once in 25 games in nonsense.

Ill gladly judge Lucas on the most recent performance given, and as such he is a good young player who is still finding his feet.

I hope this good form continues I really do.

Thanks to everyone who brought us down to earth, and commented on our over praising of Lucas, we really thought he was from now on going to be our best player....really we did...i mean we all thought one good game meant a player will be brilliant from that day on.

Seriously, we know, he still has so much to do to prove his worth long term, it's just good to see him have a half decent game, without our biggest names around him on the pitch to help him, he didn't hide.
