    Hull Build-up

Since no one's done this already I'll oblige...

I've got a feeling we'll turn these over. We're well overdue to hand out a drubbing and Hull will fancy themselves a bit more than the likes of Fulham and Stoke.

After Insua's showing last week I'm torn between whether I'd keep him in or not but I think Dossena will get the nod as he's improving and he's a bit better suited for a physical game.

Carra is also due for a rest and I reckon even Sami could outpace Dean ****ing Windass so I'd bring him in.

    I'd go with:

    Pepe

    Arbeloa Hyypia Agger Dossena

    Kuyt Alonso Mascherano Riera

    Gerrard

    Keane

Some facts off the top of my head:

Liverpool defend the longest current unbeaten home record in the top-flight against sixth placed surprise package Hull, knowing that victory for the Premier League pacesetters will open up a four point lead over Chelsea.

The Tigers have avoided defeat in 75% of their Premier League games under Phil Brown (12 of 16), and are hoping to gain their second away win over a 'Big Four' club, having already beaten Arsenal 1-2 at the Emirates on 27 September.

The Merseysiders, Champions League Group D winners midweek, have already dropped home points to a promoted club, being held to a goalless draw by Stoke on 20 September.

Both clubs have scored 24 goals in their 16 Premier League outings to date, and both have recouped an unsurpassed 12 Premier League points from losing positions; Liverpool have won four games in which they were trailing, while Hull have won three and drawn three.

Hull have never beaten Liverpool in a competitive match.

Distance between the clubs: 124 miles (199 kilometres)

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I'm hoping that the last two results will have lifted a bit of pressure and hopefully improved morale, we need to get that buzz going about the place again. Hull to be fair to them look like a team that will at least have a go so hopefully we won't see the usual 11 men behind the ball bollocks.

          Obv reina in goal

          Arbeloa certain to start
          Carragher also a defo start
Hyppia/Agger - unsure about this, you'd expect Agger to retain his place but i wouldn't be suprised if rafa went with sami
Dossena will prob just get the head of insua

midfield - well **** knows really haha - i'd suspect both Alonso and Gerrard to start having been rested, and do we really need Macher in this game? Will kuy play right mid or up top?

          So defo starts

          Reina
          Arbeloa
          Carragher
          Agger/Hyppia
          Dossena
          Gerrard
          Alonso
          Kuyt

so 3 more spots to fill and it all depends on the system - i'd reckon reira and Keane will start - so for me it's between yossi and babel for the other position.

Why would you have Carra down as a definite starter?

home game, i know hull are doing well but we should be able to rest a few first teamers for xmas period and still win comfortably:

                      reina

                      darby ( arbeloa due a break )
                      agger
                      sami ( carra due a break )

                      gerard

                      benni
                      keane
                      riera

Hull Have only lost 4 games this season, thats 1 less then Arsenal have.
I would play our strongest 11 and make sure of victory. its too easy to take
                          games like this one lightly.
Lets just get on with the job and see how it pans out at the end.

                            I'd agree with that
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

i'm not saying take this game lightely at all. IMO we SHOULD be able to take a home game against hull as an oportunity to rest 1 or 2 players and still be able to put out a team strong enough to beat them. it's not as if i want to make wholesale changes. we have a very busy xmas period coming up when it isn't plausible to play the same 11 game in game out and expect them not to get tired. we need to take games like this one to give carra and arbeloa and alonso a break.
