    That's a fair point...

...even if it does make you sound about 80 years old.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

      I know

It just seems totally ridiculous to heat the outside, plus what a waste of energy!

I think we’ll take 12 to 14 points from the above games.

Although I agree that we should concentrate on our own games, I think Utd are a bigger threat than Chelsea. By the time we play Everton, Utd will have played the same amount of games as us.
        Another MASSIVE game

If we get 18 points from these games, i think we will win win the league.

It'd put us in one hell of a position if we did somehow win all 6.

You say 'somehow' but we need to be more confident. Heading in to everyone of these games we will be the bookies favourite.

Im not saying we will definaltely get 18 points, but it is a definate possibility.

Yeah of course it's a possibility mate. All i'll say is, i've been criticised for saying we 'should' be beating WHU, Fulham, Stoke and Hull at Anfield, so i'm not going to come out and say we should go and win all 6 of those Or imply that it's a minimum requirement, etc (I know you werent doing that, but you get my point).

It'd be a huge ask, if we can win 4 of them, i think that's reasonable and would be a decent return, even more so if Chelsea was one that we beat

On paper, we could win all 6 but there has to be a margin for error somewhere, because things will sometimes go against the grain.

I honestly believe that if we can beat Chelsea at Anfield and avoid defeat at old toilet then we will win it. Especially when they will drop points against each other, it's a big ask but we can do it.

Is it just me or do them games look tough! stoke are no mugs and with the derby and Chelsea. Oh and don't forget City after the transfer madness!

Aye, we could've done with City early in January, before they've gone mad in the market

If we keep focussed and play our own game, we should be able to beat Stoke, City, Everton and Pompey. Wigan are doing well and it'll be hard, we'll need to perform.

The Chelsea game could just go either way, depends who shows up on the day. If we beat them, it could put down a huge marker.

Draw with the chavs I reckon.

I think Everton will be tough. Last couple of their games I have seen they have started to look much more of a team, even without a recognised striker.

Feeling a bit bored, so i thought id give my predictions:

                            10th Jan - Stoke (a) WIN
                            19th Jan - Everton (h) WIN
                            27th Jan - Wigan (a) DRAW
                            1st Feb - Chelsea (h) WIN
                            7th Feb - Portsmouth (a) WIN
                            21st Feb - Man City (h) WIN

If im right, 16 points aint a bad return and we will be in a great position with 12 games to go.

                              My worst case scenario:

                              10th Jan - Stoke (a) DRAW
                              19th Jan - Everton (h) WIN
                              27th Jan - Wigan (a) DRAW
                              1st Feb - Chelsea (h) LOSE
                              7th Feb - Portsmouth (a) DRAW
                              21st Feb - Man City (h) WIN

9 points from 18 with 12 games to go... that would possibly push us out of the race

                              Or more realistically IMO...

                              10th Jan - Stoke (a) WIN
                              19th Jan - Everton (h) WIN
                              27th Jan - Wigan (a) DRAW
                              1st Feb - Chelsea (h) DRAW
                              7th Feb - Portsmouth (a) DRAW
                              21st Feb - Man City (h) WIN

12 points from 18 with 12 games to go.
