I thought it looked more like Insua was getting further forward, with Agger covering the left flank and Skrtel and Hyypia the middle, but then Skrtel kept popping up on the right, so maybe it was a back 3 of Skrtel/Hyppia/Agger with Carra and Insua getting forward??

      True.

No, I have no idea either.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

As it turned out the Mascher-Lucas axis was the basis for allowing the freedom to attacking quartet. I have to say I was deeply skeptical (I think it has been tried before and not worked - or am I dreaming) but the movement of Gerrard and Benayoun in particular was superb today and they could only have played the way they did with a solid midfield platform.

I think those who think Rafa has no clue are by far in the minority but I don't think his more unexpected decisions are beyond being questioned. Today though the team answered all points perfectly and I suspect in the way that many of the questioners hoped they would.

Yes that was to cover the gaps exposed by Babel and Lucas respectively.

Gaps?? What gaps? Newcastle were non-existent going forward, and there were no gaps...that's why Mascher was there, to cover.

Rafa is a superb manager and also a very brave one with the courage of his convictions. He isnt affraid to make big decisions that on the surface have the forums and pundits scratching there heads alike. More often than not they pay off and when they dont he doesnt care what the media say.

Not only is Stevie, specially in the last 2 games playing some quite outstanding football but did anyone see the post match interview?

Sure he is turning into a mini rafa, 5-1 win and he was critical of our missed chances amongst other things. really sounded just like rafa in that post match interview well apart from a scouse accent

Bottom line is Rafa will do it his way - the media, fans, players etc can moan all they/we like but this man actually has his own masterplan and yesterday we saw exactly what 'Rafas Liverpool' side is capable of.

We are starting to look more and more like the finished product and it fills me with pride when people say we are like a machine. The great red machine is alive again!!!

Isn't it strange that the R word has not come up in the media this year!!! ROTATION!!
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

That'll be because he hasnt done it nearly as much as last season.
