    Has he?

I saw him at Celtic quite a bit, yes he was good for them, but in the SPL remember.

His goalscoring record in the Premiership, is, dare I say it, mediocre. He did play well for a time at Newcastle and at Blackburn last season, but did he show LFC quality at those clubs?, not for me.

I think Rafa's taken a punt on him, and £6m isn't massive money, so it was a gamble worth taking. Shame it hasn't worked out. But as we saw with Morientes, for different reasons, some work out, some don't.

I completely agree with the jist of your point Niall, but it's a bit early to be saying that isn't it? Like you I've been underwhelmed (but sadly not surprised) by Bellamy's non-performances so far, but I'd give him the season before writing him off.

I fine with all that. Yes, Celtic form should be disregarded. But he did well enough in his early days to suggest he could make it. He'll have found, no doubt, that teams playing against Liverpool tend to hold a tighter line, are more up for it etc. So he may be finding the start to the season more difficult than normal. And these ruddy internationals don't help

Time will tell. Just trying to give another point of view and cut him some clack. But as you said, 6.5million means it was always worth the punt. And he brings more to the team than Cisse for sure, to be sure.

Always liked Gareth Barry. Tough as old boots and a bit of magic in that left foot too. Not sure if he's good enough for us but I do like the lad.

Big fan of barry, but under o'neil and new money he wont be going anywhere soon, last season was the year to get him.

If Barry had pace he'd have 30 caps by now and be at a top club. Shame he hasn't though coz he's got everything else.

Cisses transfer will only be finalised in the summer assuming Marseilles press ahead with making it permanent

The club wont spend the money until they are 100% certain its a done deal

Also you need to remember that incoming transfer amounts do not necessarily equate to money available to spend

There are costs to every transfer particularly those who havent specifically asked for a transfer (pay-offs, loyalty bonuses etc..) which eat up a huge amount of any incoming fees

IMO we wont have enough for Alves in January unless we see some significant changes off the pitch (investment, huge sponsorship deal etc...)
