I sometimes think people just try to find faults regardless.
Not trying to find faults as it was not a criticism. Young players will always lack experience, you only get it by playing games. And against Arsenal he did not have to play against a top level winger, nor were liverpool as a team put under any sort of sustained pressure.

Glen Johnson does not play on the left, but Arbeloa does so your point still stands.

Rather have Aurelio in the team but Insua looks a good player for the future, is he eligible in the champions league though?

Dont think he would have been, but can change him for Dossena if he does get sold for the next round.

I think he's playing at a higher level than Dossena has for us so far but Aurelio for me will still take some more shifting as I thought he was having an excellent season before his injury. He looks a really good little player though.

I think Insua is going to get a decent amount of games for the rest of the season. He is above Dossena in the pecking order for me and should play whenever Aurelio is unavailable. Given the amount of injuries Aurelio picks up this should be quite often.

If he can build up a decent amount of first team experience and continue to improve and learn I can see no reason why he shouldn't go on to become our regular left back in a a year or two.

Aurelio and Insua (fitness permitting) should have the left back spot sorted for years. Not bad for a million or so for the pair of them. Rafa strikes again.

It's just a pity Rafa didn't realise this before he splashed out £7M on Dossena. Oh well, I guess you can't have it all.

I knew someone would post that but my money was on 'the usual suspects.' Traitor!

                      ****ing bull****...

INSUA HEADS OFF ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY
                      Steve Hunter 05 January 2009

Liverpool will be without the services of Emiliano Insua for the next month due to his participation in the Under-20 South American Championships with Argentina in Venezuela.

The left back, who has started the last four matches in the first team, will be away until February 8 meaning he won't be available for this weekend's game with Stoke, the double header with Everton or the Anfield clash with Chelsea.

Joining Insua in the tournament will be reserve defender Ronald Huth who will be representing Paraguay.

The tournament runs from January 19 until February 8, and is staged every two years.

Argentina have won it four times, the last being in 2003.

It was all going too smoothly. At least it's coincided with Aurelio's return.

I really think that for mid season, non-senior tournament's like this, that players who are first team regulars for their clubs should not have to participate if the club doesn't want them to.

You really think he'll remain fit for the next month?

Rafa couldn't have predicted that Insua would have progressed to a high enough level to play regularly so if he didn't buy Dossena we would have been screwed when Auerillo got injured which we all know happens pretty regularly.
As it happens Dossena has performed as well and Insua has arguable exceeded expectations and played in more games then would have been planned, that's the benefit of buying good youngsters, moulding them into how you want the team to play then the player taking his chance.
Carra is a Centre Half, end of discussion, get him back there and away from Right Back as soon as possible.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
