Dossena has been good going forward but **** defending.

That is a problem. I would play Carra ahead of Dossena if Aurelio get injured.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

You mean you'd put Carragher at left midfield?

      You're so wacky, AFII.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

No, I would play Carra as a striker

He'd ****ing better, as Dossena could single-handedly cause our season to implode.

He isn't that bad I quite like him, good cross on him

In a big game I think Benitez probably would, or at least stick Arbeloa there and move Carra to RB

you know what insua should have the option of saying you know what i am in the team now this is my chance to cement first choice in the team. its my chance - il stay.

He probably would have gone even if he had the choice.

Argentians seem to be very passionate about their national team. Look how important playing in The Olympics was to Masch.

Anyway, with Aurelio back from injury we should be fine for the next few games.

And if we get really stuck we could play, in order of preference, Arbeloa (fitness permitting), Agger or Carra there.

What is going to develop him as a player more a run in the first team as first choice left back or a meaningless U-20 tournament.

This tournament could not have come at a worse time for the lad. He really could have made that spot his own with a few more solid performances.

I think in some ways that people view these tournaments in a very anglo-centric manner. In Argentina the under age teams genuinely seem to be about developing players in certain ways and have driven the number of small talent, above athleticism players coming from Argentina. It has come at a bad time but in general I think that him playing for the under age team would/will do him good in a way that doing the same for the England team maybe would not.

I just wish that Dossena had been playing better. With a bit of luck Rafa has got to work on him big time in training. Until he leaves I am going to have hope for him I think as his passing and crossing has impressed me at times and in his last couple of appearances he showed signs of a willingness to fling himself into harms way which I like in defenders (no I am not forgetting his ability to get side on to any winger and his abject failure to use his body strength at any time or his occasionally slightly David James circa 1999 sense of positioning).

We will face a very quick right winger as soon as we play Dossena simply because he is so slow that it will hurt us even if the quick player isn't that skillful.

We simply can't afford to play with a player with such an obvious weakness in the defense.

The only position I would consider to play Dossena is as a left winger.
