Id leave N'Gog in the squad, he can be useful if we need something else. Also what will it do to someone confidence when you drag them out the squad.

Really?? If that's the case I would have thought he would have been registered on the B-list for the first half of the season as one of the reserve players closest to the first team

On first glance I'd have Sami or Insua in for Degen.

My point with Heskey was if we signed him, whilst he wouldn't count as homegrown, he'd obviously count as English so is there anyone on there registered because he's English who would count as homegrown (if you catch my drift)? I suppose only Carra or Gerrard would be candidates.

If not, signing Heskey would allow Insua into the squad at the expense of Ngog.

Insua is away for a month though, this is probably why and perhaps he will be added later.

Indeed - South American Tournament ends 8th Feb, we don't play Real until the end of February.

Insua has to be in the squad, if only to kick the **** out of Robben!!!

Although Insua has been at the club 2 years, he actually only signed permanently for us at the start of last season (remember, we exchanged him for Paletta). This means he cant be registered for the B-list as officially, he has only been a Liverpool player for well under 2 years (think it works out too being 16 months)

Agree. We need both Hyypia and Insua in the squad. Degen is not needed at all and we can get by without N'Gog considering our other attacking options/formation.

Maybe if Heskey does come in as rumoured he could replace Pennant. That would make a really formidable squad.

I'll go out on a limb and say that there's as much chance of Heskey returning as me winning Lotto. None at all No source/ inside info nothing, just my gut feeling
