I see Newcastle as being **** and Bolton at Anfield as a game we should win comfortably. Different views, eh?

7 points from 9 is a very good return generally speaking and it's a good ratio to be looking at reaching on a regular basis.

5 draws in our last 8, somewhat pisses on the bonfire though.

You're arguing that we're not good enough to beat the likes of Stoke and Hull, and i think that's bull**** personally. Each to their own view.

We're good enough to win the title, whether we do it or not will be down to whether we keep ****ing up or not..
We are definitely one of the teams good enough to win the title, which is great! And we've been top of the table for a good while now. If we win the title then we'll all be ecstatic, and if we don't we'll hope we sign some new players who will take us to the next level to enable us to beat those "**** teams" you referred to.

No, i think to win the title, you have to have hugely high standards and you cant shrug off draws to teams like Stoke with an 'oh well' type of attitude.

Winners dont see it this way.

It's summed up by the fact that we consider it a success to be in the race going into February.

As Carragher has said, we're Liverpool, we SHOULD ****ing well be in the title race. To consider that as some kind of success, to me, doesnt epitomise a winning mentality.

If you find that rude, so be it. You have your view and i have mine.

I havent referred that term to anyone specific or personally.

We already have the players to beat them, our manager just makes poor decisions with regards to personnel selection and tactics. IMO of course.

He's such a bad manager that we're top of the league!

That's such a silly thing to say. Firstly, where did i call him a bad manager? As for top of the league...ha, let's wait til everyone's played the same number of games, then we'll see who's top. I'll be stunned if it's us.

Secondly, i could take your logic and say "Oh well if he is so good, why cant he beat Stoke, Hull, West Ham and Fulham?"

He makes some baffling decisions, even those who refuse to ever acknowledge a mistake of his know it. They're too scared to say it, because it'll loosen their 'superfan' status.

Apologies, you didn't call him a bad manager you said "our manager just makes poor decisions with regards to personnel selection and tactics". Apart from team selection and tactics what else is Rafa responsible for? Do you think he does a good job apart from personnel selection and tactics?

He has made SOME dreadfully poor decisions. On occasion, we've got away with it and still won. He sometimes makes good decisions and we win because of them.

To fail to score in 5 games against Stoke, WHU and Fulham - we're talking 360minutes without scoring. Woeful.

Is he not remotely responsible or accountable for our results, good and bad?

                    I doubt it tbh.

Another thread with DJS acting the ****. Can there be a more patronising, condescending beaut on this earth?

And please get another saying other than "head in the clouds", you use that all the time.

The thing is, if Gerrard had scored instead of hitting the woodwork in the last minutes of the game, people would now be talking about how we showed a 'champions pedigree' - playing poorly but still getting the result.

Thats how fine the margins are - but I refuse to belive that at this stage of the season and in our currrent position, a few centimeters can turn you from being genuine title contenders to losers in the space of a few minutes.

I'm no superfan and Rafa has made his fair share of mistakes but lets keep our heads up and our support behind the team because its my belief the fans actually can make a difference here.

                            The Wino's reply

"Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has responded to Rafael Benitez's shock rant and branded the Spaniard's comments as 'ridiculous'.

Speaking after his side's 3-0 home win over title rivals Chelsea, Ferguson hit back at his managerial counterpart.

Benitez became riled after Ferguson stated that his Liverpool side could choke under the pressure of being at the top of the table.

The former Valencia manager responded by claiming that the United boss is above the law when it comes to punishment from The FA by reeling off what he called as 'facts'.

With Liverpool mounting what looks like their most serious title challenge since they last won the league in 1990 the mind games appear to have begun between the two clubs.

"I think you have to cut through the venom of it," Ferguson told Sky Sports.

"Hopefully he will reflect and understand what he said was ridiculous.

"I think he was an angry man and I think he was disturbed for some reason, that's all I've got to say about it."

Liverpool's draw at Stoke means United could find themselves top the table before the leader's play their next game against Everton in the Merseyside derby next Monday.

The Red Devils face Wigan at Old Trafford on Wednesday followed by Bolton away on Saturday where they need six points to go top."
