Craig, please try to cut out the patronising in your posts. Constantly suggesting that anyone who feels differently has their head in the clouds or whatever it getting a wee bit tedious. And to keep going on about how you have higher standards etc just makes you look you have your head somewhere else.

tbf though craig is bang on imo it amazes me how some people lower their standards - maybe he like me remembers the good al days and doesnt see finishing top 4 as our goal

Is it a lowering of standards or is it simply people being realistic? Just because we are Liverpool we don't have a divine right to win the league, and haven't done so for nearly 20 years. Of course we all want to win it, but I don't see how someone that doesn't demand that we are #1 every season has a losers mentality. I just sounds like people trying to be super fans by saying "I have higher standards than you" etc.

And whether Craig's point is valid or not, it's the patronising way he dismisses other people that I was referring to.

It's only a lowering of standards though in the sense that it is in line with the teams performances over the last two decades. Therefore it is realistic standards imo.

No, i think to win the title, you have to have hugely high standards and you cant shrug off draws to teams like Stoke with an 'oh well' type of attitude.

Winners dont see it this way.

It's summed up by the fact that we consider it a success to be in the race going into February.

As Carragher has said, we're Liverpool, we SHOULD ****ing well be in the title race. To consider that as some kind of success, to me, doesnt epitomise a winning mentality.

As for DJS's view on 'lowering of standards', I don't think that the team or Rafa has it down because we've drawn with Stoke. All the top teams have been very inconsistent this season and it doesn't mean that standards have dropped. It's maybe a reflection of how well 'lesser teams' are doing this season and the general quality of the premiership.

We've still got our own destiny into our hands because we've still got to play United even if they win both their games in hand. Ah, there's still some 17 odd games left to play.
