BUT the clayshooting-device could have been set to launch at a lower speed.

    But I think it's a fake....
IF the ball goes about 150 miles an hour.

that's a chip shot and therefore is probably less than half of that - 70mph (at a push).

clay pigeons dont keep speeding away from you at 150 mph. they get to a certain hieght then waiver for a bit before they drop. for approx 1-1.5 secs the pigeon slows in speed and stays within a set area of space. this clip could be perfectly real.

Mate it is real - the producers were astonished that he managed to hit it in under 10 attempts. They thought it was gonna take about 80 shoots

Yeah, we've read the stories; apparently Rafa was looking out at the same time and was also astonished.

Nah Rafa was trying to knock it out of the sky by throwing his kidney stones at it

Steven Gerrard and Xavi Alonso had a go at kicking a few balls at some clay pigeons at Liverpool's training ground, which isn't an easy thing armed with just a football. Alonso launched a clay pigeon from a machine they'd wheeled out on the pitch and Gerrard smacked a ball nearly hitting it. He had another go and, second attempt, he hit it breaking the clay in the sky. Manager Rafa Benitez, watching from his office looked pretty impressed at Gerrard's feat, as were Liverpool training staff standing behind the camera.
