I love how people exaggerate and imply that i said it was time to 'give up the league' when i said nothing of the sort.
You suggested that Man Utd had a worse win ratio than us, and i simply pointed out that their's is actually better.
It doesnt have to be that much better, even a single point difference would win them the league.

"I think it's perfectly clear that i'm unhappy because i feel that the failure to beat the likes of Stoke means we WONT win the league.
How often does a team win the title when it fails to win 38%... "
Seems like you feel we wont win the league, a lot of your other posts seem to be very defeatist.

I do feel that we wont win it, yes. I'm not sure how defeatist that is, considering virtually every pundit, every bookmaker and the majority of LFC fans (from what i've seen) seem to think we wont win it, either.Originally posted by Woobus View PostMaybe I took the wrong meaning from this

what if their loss ratio was worse than ours and our draw ratio better than theirs would we win the league then
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Rafa Benitez believes it could take fewer points to win this year's Barclays Premier League than in recent seasons.
The champions have averaged more than 90 points over the last five seasons, but with at least one of the big four seemingly dropping points every week, Benitez thinks there could be more room for error this time around.
The Spaniard argues that the English league is more competitive than ever thanks to evermore savvy managers.
He told Liverpoolfc.tv: "You can clearly see that there is not much of a points difference between a lot of teams. That means everyone can beat everyone.
"The managers are working better and the players understand the game more. Players know how to play against you in every game. That makes it more difficult.
"It could be that it takes fewer points to win the title because you can lose games you expect to win. This could be the situation at the end of the season."
Chelsea amassed the largest points total of the last five years when they earned 95 in 2004-05. Last season, Manchester United won the title with 87 points - the lowest tally since 2002-03.

Well the poll on here is 52.38 think we will win the league so you are in the minority when it comes to Liverpool supporters (well from this site)Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI do feel that we wont win it, yes. Your defeatist attitude is clear to see when looking through your previous posts and the one above. Nothing wrong with it as we all operate differently, you were like this after the Villa draw then got back to being confident after a couple of good wins. Hopefully a good win against Everton will start you believing again.

Aye.
He is over cautious.
Too seldom does he change formation and go for it when the game is there for the taking.
Too seldom does he go for the throat from the start against inferior opposition.
Too focused on not conceding possession.
He is still very good, mind.--== Because the gang and the government is no different ==--

I agree that he is a naturally somewhat cautious coach but I think that the accusation is given too much weight. I think he has struggled to identify the right combination of players that will be able to really crack teams like Stoke. Part of this problem lays with the inconsistency of a number of our wide players - namely Babel and Benayoun. Rafa will always prefer IMO to use width and change the way we attack rather than just throw on forwards. In order to make that work IMO we either need a target man or for improvements in our wide player. They have all shown now that they can do what we need but they do it too rarely.
'and boy could he play!.

In truth mate, it's a combination of seeing us regularly fail to collect maximum points from relegation fodder - and also seeing the mancs win game after game after game. I genuinely thought Chelsea would take something from Old Trafford, but the mancs simply battered them.Originally posted by Woobus View PostWell the poll on here is 52.38 think we will win the league so you are in the minority when it comes to Liverpool supporters (well from this site)

The reason we remained top despite dropping silly points, was that Chelsea and Man Utd were looking shaky too. Unfortunately, the mancs are looking less shaky by the week and that's the main reason i no long fancy us to win the league.
As i said, i dont think it's defeatist, when the majority of people, professionals, neutral observers and LFC fans (this site only accounts for a small amount of LFC fans, as is notoriously positive with regards to fans outlooks) are tipping United.
You're speaking as if we're cast iron favourites to win it, and i'm tipping us not to. That would be defeatist, but i dont think my outlook is, it's merely based on the scenario as it stands - United have games in hand to take them top AND they have a far easier run-in.

I know where you are coming from but things in football change fast, there is no reason why United wont have a slump. They have been winning games recently but they have hardly been hammering teams (apart from Chelsea of course). Until the weekend we were the team on fire destroying teams while United were struggling to beat teams.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostYou're speaking as if we're cast iron favourites to win it, and i'm tipping us not to. You dont like people putting words in your mouth so please dont do the same. I have not made out that we are cast iron certs to win the league only a fool would be certain of it going either way.
At the minute I wont be putting the champers on ice or will I throw the towel in. Lots of matches left to play and it could be won by any of the top 3 at the minute.

You didnt say we were cast iron favourites, all i meant was that your response to my view that we wont win it seemed to fall in line with an opinion that we were cast iron favourites - if that makes senseOriginally posted by Woobus View PostI know where you are coming from but things in football change fast, there is no reason why United wont have a slump. I've no doubt that United will drop more points, of course they will. I dont think we'll be consistent enough however, to go on the kind of run we'll need to in order to win the title.
I'm not dismissing the chances as remote or anything, but if someone asks you the question of whether you think we'll win it or not, you have to fall onto one side of the fence, or the other. Either a yes or no. I think no. But that doesnt necessarily mean i think we'll be lightyears behind either.

You're clearly right, we do win most of our games. The level is so high though, we need to be winning more dammit!
