Rafa telling everyone what's going on will just piss the yanks off and cause friction around the club at a time when we really don't need it and it won't help him achieve what he wants IMO."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.

How many other top flight managers don't have to answer to a Chief Executive though? I can't think of any. Scolari has Kenyon above him when dealing with off the pitch matters at Chelsea, Wenger has Peter Hill-Wood and more recently Ivan Gazidis, and Fergie has David Gill at United, granted they may have better working relationships than Rafa and Parry do but i think this is a slightly ridiculous request from Rafa, he's never going to get the Total Control that he wants. We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

The problem is the sycophantic fans that believe that Rafa is beyond criticism. I wouldn't swap him for any other manager in the world but he should stop pulling stupid **** like this at particularly inappropriate times.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View Post
At times I feel us winning doesn't do Rafa any favours. if we were to win the treble then with what argument could rafa use to say that the current working arrangements are unacceptable? Its like when we're on a role and rafa randomly drops a bombshell and changes the formation or personal so to ensure everybody is aware that he's the one calling the shots, we'll win because of him and lose because of him.
I wish we'd just keep everything quiet and do our talking on the pitch. Now is not the time for outbursts or fall-outs. If he loves us like he claims to, then he'll know how important the title is this season.

The alternative is the Press doing it, with rumour of what Rafa thinks or may have said, that will piss H&G off equally, i will back Rafa before those two fools every day.Originally posted by BFG View PostWhich can be viewed as such.

I think the point is though that none of the above would tell the manager what a player is worth. The manager will tell them that and then they try and do the deal. I think all this friction comes from the fact that Rafa doesn't think Parry should be telling him what a certain player's value to the squad would be.Originally posted by Gaz View PostHow many other top flight managers don't have to answer to a Chief Executive though? Why didn't Rafa say he would put contract talks on hold until the end of the season ? If we had won the Prem he would have been in an incredibly strong position to demand whatever he wanted with backing from fans and players. Instead it disrupts our season and if we end up with nothing at the end of the season he is in a weak position...has he lost faith in the team/his ability and does he think that this is his strongest moment ?
If I was an owner looking at giving him full control over the transfers I would have to ask him about Keane - £20+million and not playing ? That cannot have helped his case.
At the end of the day though its support the manager and get coco the clown out !

So will I mate but I just think the timing is all wrong.Originally posted by REDrascal View PostThe alternative is the Press doing it, with rumour of what Rafa thinks or may have said, that will piss H&G off equally, i will back Rafa before those two fools every day.
I don't think the media speculation would piss G&H off at all as long as that's all it is. There's been plenty said on Rafa's behalf in the media about the contract length, financial terms etc in the past couple of months and they've still offered him a new deal."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. I think the club loves me and I feel the same, no matter what the situation." - Pepe Reina, Nov '09.
