We are ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal, just behind Man U, of course we have made some stupid draws, but those teams have done the same. That is just one of those seasons, but stop acting like we are out of the title race, we are very much in it."

Well said mate fully agree there are more twists and turns to this League race

Hopefully Torres being back will kick-start us again, but we do need more match winners.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I think some of our 'foreign' players can't take the cold.

Or the heat. Pick one as appropriate.

I've been a fan of Rafa from the moment he got here and he restored a lot of my pride back in the club after the Houllier excuse years with his dignity.

I have argued with Liverpool fans who have been calling for his head for 3 years but I am now at the point where I am finding it harder and harder to agree with giving him more time. Unlike some of the earlier posts I actually agree with taking off our 2 strikers, Keane was anonymous for the second half and didn't deserve to stay on, however i am a fan of his and feel for the guy, he scores 3 goals in 2 games and then doesn't play in the league for a month (??!!), the way Torres was running around for the 5 mins b4 he came off you could tell he was shattered and had to come off before his hamstring went again, that was when he was most at risk.

However Mascher should have come on for Keane and Gerrard pushed on and Babel for Torres to give us the pace up front to keep them pegged back. Instead we gifted them the game through sitting back. I would never let Benni play for us again, he gave away 2dangerous free kicks and did nothing on the ball when he had it as per usual, I don't think i have seen a Liverpool player give the ball away as much since Danny Murphy left, even little Luis wasn't that bad!!

Some of the earlier posts said we are only in the title race due to the other teams being poor and it's hard to argue, how many points do we have now compared this time last year, i would suspect it's not many more so the top 2 have come back to the pack. We have drawn 5 games nil all mainly due to us not going for the game. If we had the balls of, and i hate to say this, utd, we would have really gone for those 5 games and quite possibly won 3, drawn 1 and lost 1, that would leave us 5 points better off, and that's ignoring tonight when a team without a striker remember scared us into sitting back on a 1 nil lead.

As I stated at the top I have stood up for Rafa for 4 years and realise that he has had to put up with unbelievable crap behind the scenes but if he doesn't change his mentality over the next 4 months I would reluctantly think we have to change manager.

And no I don't know who i would bring in as until tonight it's not something I have felt the need to give any thought to.

Rafa's contract must wait at the end of the season because he has not convinced me that we are a title outfit. Whilst United score late goals, we concede them. Bye bye title, United have just equalled us and the hard work from Mssrs Shankly, Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish has been undone. Fantastic. I can't wait for next season - I wonder what dross Rafa will bring in then.

Things have been pretty poor since November really, I think its fair to say things are spiralling downwards. We're still (amazingly) in a great position, but things need to turn around pronto. Another month of what we've been served up for the last 2 months and we'll be out of it. Manu have accumulated 10 more points since November than we have.
I am not saying, that all is good. As I said, we have made some stupid draws, but we are not out of the title race, and we have before had a very good run in the second half of the season.
So now is not the time to give up like some people in here apparently have.

I'm saying nothing, been one of those days, but i agree, the negativity is unreal, lots so certain the race is over, bit like Istanbul really.

joe king you either do not support liverpool or you are just plain ****ing stupid. we have scored late goals this season and we dont have a small team mentality. have you forgotten boro, wigan, citeh away. even united, we scored late on and we were rewarded for perseverance. recently that hasnt been the case and points were dropped. but get a grip and stop your ****wit kneejerk reactions. its a long season and there will be plenty of twists and turns.
                  spot on fella
I did say in the match thread that the right side did need to improve, Carra and Kuyt give us no width down there at all.

We can't hear the fat lady singing because she's sitting on our faces. What we can't hear we won't hear. Sadly.

Think how gutted we are, now imagine how the players and staff feel. Yes the 0-0 draws have been ****e and annoying but this has hurt more than any of them - we rarely drop points from a losing position. Time to move on and put on a winning run we all know we're capable of. If this is what it takes to get our act together and start wrestling points from teams no matter what like at the start of the season then so be it

I think everyone at Anfield is gutted by the number of draws we have. No one more than Rafa himself.

Unfortunately, everyone at Anfield (Sammy Lee, the tea lady, etc) can see what we're doing wrong but the man that counts can't. That is the unfortunate truth.

I would hope that the players and staff feel worse than us, but I'm afraid there have been too many results lately that should have made us get our act together and yet we still haven't so I'm afraid I have no confidence this one will be any different.
