    Post Match - Bitters FA Cup

    Great list of games coming for us: Wigan (A) Chelsea (H) Everton (A)

    Thanks Benitez. Your persistence with Dirk Kuyt costs us of attacking flair, guile and composure. The guy offers **** all.

    First half: We were ****, no shots on target. Stupid corner conceded and stupid goal to concede.

    Second half: Not much improvement. Great piece of skill and that was it. Kuyt missing a guilt edge chance.

    We won't win any titles. United's tough patch with a bundle of injuries and they gain rubbish WINS. We can't get **** with more or less a full side available. Close the door behind you Benitez. That rant cost us of any sort of chance we had of gaining honours. United for the quadruple - possibly. I wouldn't count it out.

      Big teams are less of a problem because we have more space going forward and using Torres and Gerrard to hit them on the counter. We really struggle when the opposition line up on the edge of their box and tell us: "Go ahead and try to beat us with crosses".

          Maybe we should be faster with passing around the area. We are so slow in our build up play, we never play penetrative passes, its always back and square.

              It's not that. We know how to pass the ball and we can do it quickly, but it serves no purpose. Where does the ball go to? Kuyt and Babel. Can they beat their man? No. Can they cross? No. Do they offer any threat going one on one with their defender? No. What do they do? Pass it back. Where are we? Square one.

                  I agree about Kuyt, really can't comprehend Rafa's persistence at playing him (and certainly not on his own, e.g. Stoke).

                    I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

                      United's attacking game is not better than us. They are actually quite **** in their organized attacks. They are a counter attacking team that isolates their star players so they can beat their man and create an opening. They also heavily rely on their defence to make sure one goal is enough for them. It's working for them because they have been quite awesome defensively.

                        Funnily enough, the danish commentator, a former national team player and a Manc fan, thought Liverpool played well, but just couldn't break down the Everton defence.

                          Questionable. Everton allowed us to have the ball, playing well means we created a host of chances. We created in the whole game, three. The goal, Torres block and Kuyt's easy chance

                              So, Kuyt is tonight's scapegoat then is he?

                              We absolutely controlled that game against a side who hardly ever got, or wanted to get, past their half-way line. One **** up from a corner, and a general lack of real creativity or cutting edge, slightly disappointing in the end but some of the hyperbole is just ludicrous.

                              And I'm going to get the banstick out if any outright abuse of players of the like that had to be deleted from the match thread is posted again.
