That's balls mate. He's given us our dignity back - under Houllier every season was a battle just to finish 4th. Now we are regulars in the CL and fancy ourselves to win it every season, and we are - or have been - in the hunt for the league for the first time in years. He's provided us with a tremendous nucleus....a very strong spine.

Just the big one is eluding him and I now wonder if he's the man to carry us over the line. He's got us close, but not close enough.

Couldn't agree more.. but why? has the pressure got to some of the lads? or have we been riding our luck all season?

Listen, I never expected us to win the league so am not that gutted that we blew it as I expected it, however, the manner in which we have done so leaves a lot to be desired. Rafa has taken a great opportunity and made a series of bad calls with his selections and subs. On top of that, he has made some very bad decisions with regards to PR. He has more than contributed to the team dropping out of the race like a stone. Sometimes **** happens, but this **** didn't need to happen in the way that it has. Maybe Rafa will learn from this, but I doubt we'll find ourselves in the same position again so I doubt he'll be able to exploit this experience with us. If we really want to go chasing a title we should get rid of Rafa. If we are ok with challenging near the top, let's give him another year or two. Either way, let's accept that Rafa is a limited manager who isn't going to take us to greatness.

If it comes to it, and it may do so, I wouldn't be too upset with one of them. If there were any suitable British managers I would prefer it.

In a perfect world, someone with history with us.
