And then, with one monumentous post, the Sheik(h) laughed aloud at his very own signature and proudly rode off into the sunset on his camel, lovingly named Dirk.
    That's the one...

Innit. What a waste of a team. Ah well, at least I won't be disappointed anymore.

When does the Cl start again. There's always that.

I've always supported Rafa and thought that whilst he made mistakes ultimatley he knew what he was doing and would get it right. After the past month I've come to the conclusion that the guy has done a great job to get us to where we our now but he isn't capable of taking us any further.

I'm literally amazed that I've just typed that, but if we want the Prem rather then Champs league- if we want our bread and butter, then we need someone else. Its not the results- its the teams tactics and substitutions that have produced them. Time to go Rafa.

I've retained my optimism for quite a while, but I think we blew it tonight. We can't afford to draw such games and still hope to win the title. The momentum is with Man Utd now and we're so low on confidence that I really can't see us turning things around.

Rafa has improved the team and the squad every year, and our expectations are higher now because we know we're not that far away from being genuine title contenders. Having said that - for the first time since Benitez arrived I'm starting to wonder if we would be better off with a more adventurous manager? If we beat Chelsea at the weekend then everyone will be feeling a bit more optimistic, but we've drawn too many games when we should have exerted our superiority over lesser teams. I hate to admit it, but it seems that the naysayers were right.

three years without a trophy is nt good enough for a club like liverpool, any other big club wud of sacked the man by now, rafa is lucky he has fans like ours, and that he is at a club like us, otherwise he would of been sacked at any other big club, FACT!

i have always supported rafa when others have criticised him, but i have had enough of this nonesense, his team selection is annoyingly woeful, his substitutions at vital moments in matches leave me speechless,
kuyt, lucas, babel dnt warrant any kind of place in are squad never mind the starting 11, babel had so much potential, but it seems rafa doesnt knw how to get the best out of most players, babel would thrive at any of the top clubs in europe!

Sorry boys, but enough is enough, he has to go!

oh and is it only me thats noticed rafa ****s up british players careers at liverpool???

crouchie gets left out in the cold when previous season he was our best striker, not even given a chance to try and form a prtnership with torres, like wise with keane this term,
few others who he ****ed up at the club are bellamy, pennant, carson!

RAFA TACTICAL GENIUS IVE HEARD ALOT OVER THE YEARS!

well they say genius is on the brink of madness, well if thats so, wer ****ing seeing the madness of rafa cum pouring out over the last month or so! and for the genius part well the substitutions tonight proved he aint no fooken genius!

the fella has lost the complete plot!

Said it before and i'll say it again. Amongst the numerous **** ups G&H have made, the best thing they can do is move heaven and earth to bring Jose Mourinho to Anfield and then sell up.

I'm certain without any doubt that Mourinho would win us the title and without the need for much investment into the squad.

In light of tonight's fun would you change your vote?

                  I think I have......
I was one of the 100. I also said that if we switched manager at this stage we would probably be waiting another 18 years for a title. I stick with the second part, which makes the first part hard to change on ... but it does seem at times that Rafa is taking the piss, and when he's pissing about with your dreams he's going to be resented.

I think we should stick with it. After analysing Rafa's actions over the last few weeks I've come to the conclusion that he's pioneering a new medium of performance art by marrying Dada with football management.

Remember, we're only adding to the nonsense.

Walking a lonely road one night, Nasruddin saw riders approaching. His imagination ran riot: he saw himself robbed or killed, so he climbed a wall into a graveyard and hid. Puzzled at his behaviour, the riders, who were followers of the Mullah, followed. Finding him cowering behind a grave, they asked "Great Sage, why are you hiding here?". "It's more complicated than you think" he replied, "I'm here because of you - and you're here because of me"

Yes, Rafa ****ed up Crouch's career. He bought him from the Championship from a very large fee, his form at Liverpool lead him to become an English international and when he wanted to leave he had several decent clubs wanting his services. Not to mention that his decision to sign Crouch was criticised by almost everyone British or not.

How did Rafa **** up Bellamy, Pennant and Carson? They're not upto playing for Liverpool, there careers seem to be going quiet well away from Liverpool now. By that logic you could say he ****ed up Josemi, Luis Garcia's and Antonio Nunez careers too. Maybe he's prejudice against Spanish players as well?

Seriously sure if you have a problem voice it but that's the biggest load of bull**** I've read in some time.

Don't jump the gun fella. I can't say we will win the league this season because I'm a realist. The Mancs have been favourites since day one, bar the start of the season where Chelsea seemed to be flying. We never have been, and rightly so.

The fact we started so well and have slipped up is obviously a massive downer for everyone, a tough spell in the league is hard for anyone to take. At the start of the season people rightly said that a couple of our late wins could easily have been draws, well the role reversal applies now.

Istanbul has taught me never to give up on LFC, though 20 years of hurt has taught me otherwise in the league. We all know we've ****ed up, but we will only be out the race if we screw up against Chelsea on Sunday. Morale wise that game is vital.

Wi that and we'll be upbeat against Everton and before you know it everyones happy again. Maybe I'll remind everyone about this thread then, though as Benitez has found out, the talking should be saved for the end of the season, when the dust has settled.

I am of course gutted that we have thrown away a good chance to open up a lead at the top of the league. Still I will stick to my perspective. The start of this season the results flattered us, and that built up an unrealistic hope of us being serious challengers again. That was unrightful based on our performances, and I think we should try to remember that even if we are gutted about the results the latest weeks.

Both Rafa and the players are showing signs of bulking under the massive pressure that comes with being at LFC, a club which more than any other yearns for the league and a return to the glorious past. IMO, winning the league with Liverpool is probably the hardest challenge in football management considering the pressure and the competitive environment and quality of the Premier League.
Very sensible post that Tomas, pretty much how I see it
