People say not to be negative and not to have knee jerk reactions but I can't help but feel we are just going to tail off till the end of the season and end up in 4th again.

To be honest I am not even that pi**ed off about tonight as I half expected it too happen. His team selections and substitutions are just completely baffling and his man management skills are poor. It reminds me of the last few years under GH to be honest.

People are coming on here saying we have no right to question Rafa but when does it become OK to do this, at the end of the season when we are in 4th again? Do we give him another season again? This has been our best chance ever to win the league and it looks like we have blown it. As supporters do we not have the right to be pissed off at the manager?

I thought Torres was half dead when he came off and had not had a good game. Keane is not a one up front striker, we know that already and Reira can be a threat.
Gerrard misplaced pretty much every pass in the second half.
Yossi made sense at the time because Kuyt would cover Arbeloa more and would still get forward.

Last season, we as fans, stood by Rafa when the yanks went behind his back over Klinsmann. We sing songs about him every week on the terraces, even carry framed photos him (Rafatollah). And this is how he repays us. Dull, boring games. Teams that lack creativity. Two defensive midfielders every game, even at home against the likes of Hull & Stoke. **** substitutions. Stubborness - constantly playing Kuyt, even when he plays **** (every game), not playing Keane even after his little run of goals at Christmas.
He is turning us into a laughing stock. I'm sorry to say that it reminds me of the last few years of Houlliers regime. I'm glad he hasn't signed a new deal yet. He doesn't deserve one at the moment. Remember, it is three years since his last trophy.

Matt , I really admire your positive views but you must at least see why some our totally gutted.
For the first time , after tonight's game ,even my brother, a Rafa full time admirer has his doubts,as I do

I have to be honest, I also am a Rafa Admirer but I fear he has taken the club as far as he can. Too many strange decisions in team selection, subs and signings this season has cost us a title that looked destined to be ours before Xmas.
If there was ever a time to win number 19 then this was the season. Chelsea going through a terrible blip, United looking a little lost at times and Arsenal being utter garbage. We COULD AND SHOULD have been 10 maybe more points clear at the top right now.
With the exception of Arsenal, the ussual suspects are starting to hit form at the right time and with Villa right now looking good then we could be fighting it out for fourth spot again and a ton of points behind the winners come May.
I REALLY HOPE I am wrong and Im normally quite optimistic, but I fear our season is over thanks to Rafa and a good portion of our so called "top players"

Utterly depressing. It's silly when we still have much to play for but to me it feels like our season has died a death tonight.

AS for Rafa, well all I can say is that he clearly needs to go back to the drawing board and re-evaluate all his tried and tested methods. The workmanlike, steady, solidity only gets you so far; sometimes you need to let the shackles loose and go for the jugular. Pretty soon teams like Villa will overtake us because while they'll lose more games than we do they'll probably beat the weaker teams when we'll struggle, because they have pace and power and creativity and actually try to win games.

Obviously, I don't think he is doing it on purpose. But I'd like to think that he knows where he ****s up. Why sit back on a one nil lead with half an hour to go? Can he not see that this sort of mentality is going to cost us a shot at the title? Attack is the best form of defence!
