But we're not 'the best fans in the world' so I think we need a bit more than positivity and pride from fans.

» After last season’s January slump, Liverpool went on to finish the season in emphatic style. They won eleven, drew three and lost one of their final fifteen, meaning that they were comfortably the best team in the league from February onwards. Over that period they averaged 2.40 points a game to Manchester United’s 2.14.

» The post-January flourish was also the difference maker for Rafael Benitez’s first ever league title while in charge of Valencia seven seasons ago. By the end of January that season they were fourth in La Liga, four points off top, having been handicapped by drawing nine of their first 22 (compared to Liverpool’s nine in 23).

» However from February onwards Valencia took eight points more than any other team in the league, winning twelve, drawing three and losing one of their final sixteen.

I know we weren't in a title race last season but still we can dream
A very positive spin on things but Rafa didnt have a cunt like lucas with him, saying that he had a cunt like momo i suppose so there is hope ,but only if rafa plays more positive football .

The ones who continue to cheer and support when the going gets tough. We showed how good our fans can be at half time in Istanbul. But that was one of those fantastic occasions when our fans tend to be up for it.

I find it funny that are fans got the label of "Best fans in the world" when we were beating everyone around in the 70's and 80's. It's retty easy to be a good supporter when your team is arguably the best in the world.

I think our fans are still the best around for the big occasion, but I've no idea which fans can claim to be the best overall. The atmosphere at Anfield for league games would suggest it's not us. Peopl used to tell me it was the Pompey fans and sure they were great when being hammered by Arsenal once as they continued to support their team. But they expected to be hammered. Should they get relegated I suggest their fans would not be so great if they were getting beat by the likes of Barnsley and Watford.

So I have no idea who other the best support.

After beating Chelsea there is definaltely light at the end of the tunnel.

We must beat Portsmouth though. The added incentive is that we play Pompey on Saturday, so if we win we go top albiet with 2 extra matches played.

That will put real pressure on ManU who play away to the form team West Ham on Sunday. Upton Park has always been their bogey ground.

Tis true, problem being if one was to "noble" those manc ...chappies, one would have one's sword in one's hand for the act of dobbing etc, the temptation would be just too much.

So by my ****ty maths that will no doubt be full of holes, a repeat of that form will get us 3.64 points up on the Scum. If they win their game in hand they will be 5 points clear so we're screwed
What if we beat them at Old Trafford?

Not only are you a cretin of the highest order. You are also factually incorrect. Lucas during that spell (Jan onwards) played more games consecutively than he has at any other point during his Liverpool career. He was playing really well too and showed signs of developing into a class act.

haha. Yeh I giggled at that thought too.

The biggy is obviously the game at Old Toilet. If we win that one, not only is it a massive points swing, but a huge mental victory.
