In any case, i'm not really disputing the point you've made, but breaking even in the market isnt really the priority i'm going by.

Doing the best with what you've got is the ultimate measure of a manager's success or failure, and i dont think rafa is making anywhere near the best of what he has. It's of no real consolation if he's doing well on the profit/loss sheet.

    Fair dos

To summarise, those figures calculate Rafa has had roughly 70 million over 4 years in which to totaly overhaul the squad he inherited (or 17 million a season).

      Not a massive ammount really.

He spent 20 million on a 29 year old centre forward who he doesn't seem to want to play

Bugger how much has to spend. Tactics will cost us the title this year.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

At the end of the day we all want the same for liverpool fc and when things happen which should not be happening to our great club people react in different ways as a result of frustration. Be that towards the board, manager or players.

At the moment it is the manager as his decisions have cost us greatly over the past few weeks and he is still persisting with the same plan.

Last year it was the owners who got the **** and we all backed Rafa. If i see something i don't like or something that effects the team or club i will say so. At this moment in time it is the manager who is in the wrong and he should be criticised for it.

The more days that go by, the more i think Keane wasnt Rafa's signing.

Or at least, he wasnt anywhere near the top of rafa's wish list.

You really think that's the case?

What's happened to give you that impression?

Defo mate but when we are so close to the title for 9 years rafa should use keane to get us over the finish line then sell in the summer! Rafa being stubborn over keane has damaged us greatly.

To win the title? Or to challenge for the league.

Something else that's not news to most people of course, is that he seems to be doing the latter.

That's not the point. The point is that he has had the same if not more than Utd to spend in that time. Please don't mention how **** the squad was that he inherited. How many of the players that won the CL with Rafa were already there when he took over? Those figures run up until last season when Riise was still with us which would have meant he was still using Gerrard, Carra, Sami and Riise as first team regulars.

I don't want to start another Keane debate but he hasn't played well at all for us. If at the end of the season we are looking at reasons why we didn't win the league I don't think leaving Keane out will be the mistake that cost us

For 20 odd games. Let's see come April and May.

It's quite simple for me, the squad is good enough to win it, but his poor mistakes will cost us that chance.

According to those figures, Rafa has spent £140 mill plus Keane, Dossena, Ngog and Riera. So roughly another £40mill. SO that's about £180 mill. Out of that £180 mill, look at what we have from it. As I said earlier, he's brought in some gems, but for £180 mill, i'd expect a lot better. He should buy quality, not quantity. This season's transfers have been a joke, with the exception of Riera.

A little like our 2003 transfers?

Riera has also been a bad signing.
