    From the Beeb:-

1447: The plot thickens: I've had an email from a Swedish punter, telling us that according to Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet, an experienced Swedish player is about to sign for an English club. That's the most brilliantly vague chat I've heard yet.

Henrik Larsson as cover for Fernando?

I think that is an even further left field suggestion!!!
Straight out of the AFII play book - I like it

        I'm claiming that one too

Is he not injured though? Although they've signed the Red Adair for relegation-threatened clubs, Henri Camara...following Beattie. If he's not out of favour now, he probably will be. Hasn't scored a single goal for them, record signing too. I know we've discussed him often but I thought he looked a very tidy player for Reading. I'd be horrified if we signed him though.
I really can't decide how seriously I like this idea. I do think he is a good player, not really our class, but he would be ideal for the role I feel we need to add to the squad and if the alternative was nothing then I kind of think it is not a huge gamble as we could probably sell him for what we might buy him for.

I'm quite surprised that Camara has only ever played for 9 clubs (10 when starts for Stoke I guess).

Henri Camara is the new Nigel Quashie, who was the new Neil Redfearn.

To be fair to him he has stayed up at least with Wigan and West Ham surely.

Larsson? khm that'd be brilliant. but i think that he'll come in one of the mid-table team.

Rather than getting relegated, I meant signing for newly-promoted clubs. All the time.

ha ha thats funny, but i couldnt stand dogbreath in our shirt even if it was a straight swap for lucas.

                        Ok, maybe then!

I hope to god we pull a striker out of the bag because like all of you i worry what will happen if torres gets injured, babel would be the best option but lets be fair he hasnt done great so far has he.

Its bad that I think Saviola is the best we can hope for.

I reckon we should put a bid in for David Villa, Valencia are skint and he is total quality. £20mill should do it

                                Problem solved then

It's obviously not an ideal situation we're in but I don't think it's as much of a biggy as it seems. Torres, Babel and N'Gog should be enough to cover one striker position. The problem is if we're forced to regularly play Babel up top we're shorn of what little attacking quality we have to come on and change games for us. Risky as it is I'm tempted to say we're better off sodding forking out for a bit part and making do until we can buy real quality.
