We're definitely relying on Benayoun today, he's been in good form lately and a player I appreciate in the squad. If he does well today with the players around him, he'll be making a first team place his own. He already deserves that in my book, and he's been better than Babel/Kuyt/Riera.

It's encouraging somewhat, that Kuyt got dropped even when we're missing so many key players.

The problem is that Yossi has no one to build an attack with today. Maybe Aurelio or maybe Rafa's counting on the full backs to deliver, but it's definitely a huge risk with what we've got up front.

Babel and N'Gog really won't get better chances than this.

It can go really really wrong or really really well.

      I'm strangely excited.

I'm starting to feel that if Dossena has a bad (or normal, not much difference) game i'm going to get crucified... haha.

              Their pace could be important.

Interesting 6 3 1 formation with Alonso, Riera, Kuyt and Torres on the bench.

Either Rafa is a genius or a fruitcake.

Good chance for N'gog against a team playing badly I feel. Hope he takes it.

If you mean N'Gog, I've seen nothing to suggest he's quicker than Kuyt. Babel obviously, but N'Gog is far from quick. Maybe I'm wrong.

                        Off you go then!

NO LIVERPOOL FAN GIVES UP BEFORE KICK OFF.

I just don't get some on here, it's as if they hate it when we win cos we don't score enough, hate it when we draw "coz we shud've battered 'em" and hate it when we loose............ fair enough!

You just don't get, it's through the wind and rain.

Support the shirt, support the men, support the manager, support each other. Simple really!

Once again not my own opinion but the people on the er, Times podcast I tihnk it is, seem to think they're not really playing that badly on the whole, they've just been making some terrible defensive errors

As I said on the other thread, Aurelio in a Barry-esque role is what I'm hoping for, think he will thrive there

This team will either work a treat or fail miserably. The likes of Benayoun and Babel can flourish with this set up, big emphasis on our full backs/wing backs or whatever to get forward.
3 points will only do. None of this "pompey's a tough place to go so a point will do" ****e.

if there's six player in ther who normally play as defenders, that does not mean well be playing six across the back...players can play in different positions

rafa had to improvise for this game, so keep that in mind

I'd like to think Rafa isn't hoping to keep it tight for the first hour then unleash Alonso, Torres and so on in the hope of winning the game.
                                Risky business.
