No team talk required IMO. Rafa vs Real Madrid is all we need to know. Still a spastic comment though by VDV.

True to an extent and a good run this year will see Rafa's Liverpool firmly entrenched as the best in the comp over 5 years.

Personally I havent seen alot of Real this year but i know that Robben is kicking arse. However that will not be enough to get past Rafa. He will nullify him and I expect a 0-0 1st leg. After that it's a case of

Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I was sooo p!55ed off when I read that. I was a big fan of VDV when he was in Germany, at one point i was hoping he would sign for us. But he's been terrible for Madrid, he rarely starts and there are rumours he's going to be sold.

I wish a Liverpool player would put him in his place and say something about how they don't care what madrid players have to say, more so those that aren't good enough to get in the first team!

We will reply on the pitch and on the Kop. Lets see what he thinks when he walks out into the ground and hear's the crowd and then gets smashed on the pitch too. Hammer them at Anfield and show them that as ever we fear no team

Sergio Ramos would be good in our team. I would then put Arbeloa at LB.

surely VDV is in the minority with this opinion.

didnt messi say earlier in the season that the team that beats us will probably win the CL?

Barcelona's Argentina forward Lionel Messi believes Liverpool are the favourites for this season's Champions League.

"If I had to choose anyone it would be Liverpool," Messi told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"They have great players like Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and Javier Mascherano, and they are difficult to play against.

"Maybe there are teams that play better football but I see them in the final in Rome."

Madrid are a joke, the likes of van der fart and the rest of the over hyped bluffers they have in their midfield don't have the character to outplay us! His wife is a stunner to be fair to him!

What a difference 6 months makes. It wasn’t that long ago that people were creaming themselves at the thought of signing VDV.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

i think a lot of us are writing Madrid off a bit and to be honest it's that kind of situation that tends to bite us on the arse.

Whether they are as good as they were 5 years ago or not is a moot point. So too to a certain degree is their poor early season form, which they appear to have turned around. They have a superb squad with numerous match winners and we will have to be at our best to overcome them. Having said that, if were do play our best, I think we have the game to get past them. 1-1 at the Bernabeau 1-0 at anfield is my prediction

I think we all respect that they are a threat, ofcourse they are and it will be a massive game where we will need to be at our best.

But the point is that we certainly are not scared, if anything they should fear us

This seems strange seeing as a few years ago I seem to remember a fella, Dunk I think his name was, saying that he was a dead cert to become a Liverpool player and that couldn't wait to play at Anfield with all his heroes.
