only just seen ur post - no didn't go last night, sold my ticket to a mate at weekend as I had a work thing last night - gutted cause i got offered another 3 tickets yesterday for it as well - but no, cause it's our 1 year anniversery of trading in the UK we went out for 10 pin bowling and pizza
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
We need a clinical striker so that we don't rely so heavily on Torres. We need wingers of the Barnes/Houghton level. Assuming Insua continues to develop, we need a right back. Arbeloa is decent but I think we need better if we are to overtake the Mancs and Chelski.
They don't make them anymore. No left winger out there today is at that level. My God if we had a young Barnes in the team right now we would be cruising.
The Reaper?
Satan?
Bin Laden a late Friday night before the game Saturday?
The black plague?
I have all these images in my head which I would like to see there.
All of the above and especially the Plague to run amok amongst Neville, Rooney, Ronaldo, Floppy Gob, Evra, Giggs and Berbanob. Then a nice dose of dementia to the purple nosed one AND Bobby Charlton. He does my head in and why does he look like an old woman these days. He litterally looks like my elderly sister in law but with less hair.
For the rest of the Filth United team I’d like to throw cabbages, hot Bovril and gravel.
That's my new book. 'Shut the **** Up, by Dr. Denis Leary'. Patients come in. 'Doctor I-' Shut the **** up! NEXT!! 'Doctor, I've got this-' SHUT THE **** UP!! NEXT! 'He made me feel so much better. He just told me to shut the **** up. Nobody ever told me that before!'

do we need better players, or do we just need a change of tactics, formation, motivation and attitude?
I remember looking at the utd midfield when they played chelsea and thinking it was teh worst utd midfield I had seen in more than 15 years, chelsea man for man were far better in midfield.
But the chelsea midfield were bossed by that utd team, completely.
In my opinion, we have the talent and the ability, but the team consistantly underperforms, isn't set up correctly against the lesser teams and has an overeliance on science over sense.
Yes we're great against teams that are "better" than us and we revel in being underdogs - we are masters at stopping other teams from playing and nicking a goal, but we cannot break teams down, up the tempo and be relentless.
All this talk about who would we bring in points to adding somebody additional to the squad who, as an individual, can be a match winner on their own. Somebody who will be unpredictable and win a match with a piece of brilliance.

i'd like an aerial threat/target man up front and a classy winger
something along the lines of kenwyne jones and ashley young especially with his set pieces would be far from a disaster.
forcing us to have 2 proper wingers and 2 front men means rafa coudn't get away with having 2 holding CM's and gerrard aswell. we'd effectively have 5 up 5 back like sacchi's teams of old. we know gerrard has become more attacking the last couple of years but my lord he was the best in the business at box to box before then and he's still got the engine.
having xabi and masch/lucas is too defensive for most teams who park it home and away nowadays, teams are looking solely for a point like a cup final. we need a mix of attacking options and lots of them on the pitch to carve these teams open
If as most seem to think we've buggered the title up what do we need to do improve our chances next season?
Who do we need to buy?
What tactics to employ?
Money permitting how do we get near the Scum?
1. Two new wide men of top quality. Riera is not good enough, sorry. Use Kuyt as back up striker. One sure thing, one young wonderkid... Someone like David Silva as the sure thing, then someone like Alexis Sanchez as the wonderkid. Skill, flair and creativity. I'd even sign Tevez if we could as I think he would fit.
2. More attacking at home, not 2 holding mids. Maybe a big man striker to bust some bodies in the opposition box when teams sit back....a la Kenwyne Jones. That would take the heat off Torres and give him some space.
3. A right back who can cross would also be nice...besides that, Arby is good enough.
4. I think Carra needs to play less. He is getting on, and I would like to see Agger and Skrtel get a go. Agger needs to stay clear of injuries, sadly I cannot see that happening. Skrtel needs to up his game and stop letting people in on crosses and set pieces. Sami should teach him how. He is the master at it.
5. oh... and something about the attitude and determination on the pitch is not right. dunno what really...
