Game over 2-0, 3pts which is all that matters in the end.

Good result and some good performances

Ngog played well as did Yossi and Monster had a good game at right back

Insua was solid at left back,

Much improved second half - Bring on Real Madrid followed by the Scum

If he's carrying an injury, the last place you want him is at CB.

Very encouraging second half performance. You just wonder why Benitez doesn't play just Alonso and Gerrard together at home. No need for a destroyer like Mascherano if all the team will do is park the bus and not play a floating midfielder but instead a more compact and disciplined central midfield axis.

As Mr Michael said, N'Gog grew as the game went on. He looks like a player who needs a bit of encouragement and a bit of loving. He felt like he was playing with all the freedom in the world with some neat flicks and touches.

Benayoun by far has to be our best right winger even though he is more of a inside right winger. Great performance from him today, another goal for him. He is getting better the more the season has progressed.

I think we played well the whole game, special mention to Benny, Gerrard, Mascher, N'gog and Reina for THAT save! 3 points well deserved, too bad Chelski won though.

It is nice not having to worry about the arse results anymore , and Villa won't challenge us IMO.

Ngog really improve as it went on, in the end I thought that was a pretty good full debut from the lad

Benayoun was excellent, and Kuyt was pretty effective today.... if only he could finish

Riera confuses me. Some excellent moments (cross for the goal) but a lot of slightly shoddy play too. Insua was very composed behind him though, the future of our left-back slot I really have no doubt.

Are we having an actual post match thread or should we just let fly in here?

Good to get a win at Anfield it seems ages since the last one! Benayoun did well and should be playing on the right, he's been our best player last few games.

I thought Mascherano did well at right back, playing him there showed we don't always need two Defensive mids at home
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think you'll find thats N'Gog's third start - first at home

Kuyt was always on the move but he lacks the pace to really take a player on and players know that so they go square on him.

Riera is more off than on - we need him to take on the right back a bit more, either he is under instruction to cross from deep or lacks the confidence to take them on.

                          I meant home debut

Kuyt does lack that, he'll never be the ideal player in that regard, but he did a good job for the team today I thought and was involved in most of our good work in and around the box. He is much better as a partner for someone else upfront than there on his own.

Anyway, to the post match thread
