The guy deserves some credit. Like Lucas(great performance today) an easy target for people to pick on.

2 great finishes in 2 games. Should we be using him as an emergency attacker. His touch was sublime today when he scored, no panic just lifted it over the advancing keeper

I think he could be a good left winger. He's got a fair bit of pace and a good touch. Why not? With Insua and Fabio as left backs, we have a decent left side.

Dossena did well, especialy his goal which was sublime.

But, for me Lucas was just superb today - showed why Rafa has so much faith in him. Kept is simple and helped us win that important midfield battle. Well done lads!!!

He just isn't good enough at defending to be a LB, but he's great going forward. He'd be a preferable option to Reira at the moment. I think he's benefitted from coming into games when they've already been won, but he should be given a few starts on the left side of midfield.

He's very direct - far too direct to be a LB. You can now see why he's struggled in a 4-4-2. He probably is half decent in a back 5 as a wing back. I'd definately have him in over Riera - Riera hs been absolutely ****e for the last 5 months.

But if we're gonna keep fatty (Dossena) as a LB, we may aswell sell him

Never thought I would say this but I also agree.

Much of that opinion is down to how bad Riera has been though recently. Seems like the curse of the LW has struck again.

It's no curse - Riera is just ****e. He's only ever shown 5 months of good form in his whole career, and that was at Espanyol last season. Talk to any Spanish person and they'll tell you that Riera is an absolute nobody. I asked a Spanish guy at work around November about Riera and he didn't even know he'd signed for Liverpool!

He's done okay this season and for the money was worth bringing in. He's gone off the boil but wingers by their very nature are consistent. He'll do for the squad.
