No game is a foregone conclusion in the Premier League.

But Spurs beating us was amazing. We destroyed them on that day and should have had about four or five before they levelled. And I would say we will beat Spurs if we need to.
    Forwards.......

Comparing things now to how they were from 1993-2004 is fine, but it's an issue of standards and expectations.

Since Rafa was brought to Anfield to win the league, a better comparison to make would be looking at how we've done at home compared to what's generally required to win the league.

I think for sure it is our best away record in since the Premiership began.

I think if we approach next season with the same mentality as we're finishing this, and a few good extra signings, we can go all the way in 09-10.

The caveat, for me, is that we started this season like a train with attack-minded football and for some reason in the middle of the year, depressingly reverted to type of trying to win games by trying not to lose them first. rafa explained this recently by saying that our change of emphasis wasn't due to a change of tactics, rather due to 'increased understanding' on the training field etc., but come on, who buys that? I think Rafa got us to a soid position and sought to protect our lead with conservative, negative football and ultimately it has cost us the league. We only started really chasing in recent months when we had no other choice. I'd be worried he still think he can prosper domestically with this type of football.

That said, United legendary pox has really come into play this year, they simply haven't played well at all yet will end up champs.

In my opinion we were not playing fantastic attacking football at the start of the season. We were doing okay, but not pulling up trees looking like likely title winners. The only thing that gave me hope at that stage was the fact I believed we would get better and the fact that there was no team playing well, other than Chelsea who fell apart after we beat them at the bridge.

We were obviously not poor in all games previous, but the only time I have been impressed with Liverpool this season is since the defeat to 'Boro. Only then have we looked like a team capable of beating anyone and like a team who can and is good enough to win the title.

Prior to that we were hardly awe inspiring. Good, but not looking like title winners.
