    Benitez's Ten Great Wins

Yesterday got me thinking as it was Rafael Benitez's 100th win, what was the greatest performance we have seen under manager Rafael Benitez. I know a lot of people will say Istanbul but as a performance over the 120, it wasn't the best, especially the first 45.

So name your top ten greatest wins under Rafael Benitez.

    10. Everton 2005/06 (Goodison Park) 1-3
    9. Juventus 2004/05 (Anfield) 2-1
    8. Birmingham 2005/06 (St Andrews) 0-7
    7. Chelsea 2004/05 (Anfield) 1-0
    6. Arsenal 2006/07 (Anfield) 4-1
    5. Newcastle 2008/09 (St. James Park) 1-5
    4. Barcelona 2006/07 (Nou Camp) 1-2
    3. Real Madrid 2008/09 (Anfield) 4-0
    2. Chelsea 2008/09 (Stamford Bridge) 0-1
    1. Man United 2008/09 (Old Trafford) 1-4

The Derby and Besiktas games would be up there I guess. Maybe the performance this season away to Everton too.
      Forwards.......

Interesting that 4 of your top 5 are from this season. I guess it shows the progress that is actually being made. Some would have you believe that we have gone backwards yet maybe we have gone forward but we still have some catching up to do.

One of my favourites has to be, has to be, Arsenal last season in the CL 4-2. Magic.

We've had some monumental wins even just this season.

Doubles over the mancs and chelsea, as well as Madrid.

                  Great thread.

I know we're all well aware of all these results but to see them all listed is quite something. We have had some magical days and night under Rafa. I know someone could compile a list of dismal draws and defeats, but the volume of great wins is incredible. Winning away at Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid, scoring 4 past Arsenal twice, 4 past Real, putting 4 past United away just days later, winning 7-0 away against a Prem club in the Cup, 8-0 in the CL, breaking Chelsea's unbelievable unbeaten home run, ISTANBUL...and all the others.

Just remember where we were before Benitez arrived.

Granted there are still improvements to be made but he is a fantastic manager and we must stand by him.

Most entertaining FA Cup final in recent memory, with arguably the best ever FA Cup final goal.

It's about consistency too Shaggs. We were beating United and co under Evans too but struggled with the nobodies.

Arsenal quarter final of Champions league last season should also be there. 4 - 2. Game had everything.

Even though it's not a victory i'd say that the first Chelsea champions league semi final is one of Rafa's most important games at the club.

Everyone expected us to get tanked in that game. We got a well deserved 0 - 0 and the rest is, as they say, history.

We were not flying in Europe though and we won less trophies though.

And how long has it taken for that to be mentioned?! Amazing.

I'm well aware of that mate but I don't recall demolishing United in their own backyard under Evans, and nor were we the best side in European competition. We were losing 3-0 to Strasbourg. There's no comparison whatsoever.

We actually never beat either Chelsea or United away under Evans.
