If Fulham start the match and really press the scum then the seeds of doubt will remain and it could become a very nervy game for them.

Problem is Fulham will be dead and buried before kicking a ball - I mean, imagine you were a Fulham player and you read Hodgson's comments... you could have nice easy game and not worry about the result or performance.

I expect nothing less than a comfortable scum victory, followed by Fulham players laughing and joking/swapping shirts/collecting souvenirs. Scumbags.

Fulham have bent over for United twice in recent weeks.

I expect them to grow a set this time and have go - regardless of what Hodgson has said.

I was actually thinking of popping down to the Cottage to support Fulham on saturday but they're ****ing sold out except for £300 hospitality ****e.

He's just trying to take the pressure off.

        Good call by Hodgson.

What a f.ucking defeatest attitude to have. The guy is a f.ucking gob****e and if i was the Fulham chairman he would be dragged into my office faster than you could imagine!

What a confidence booster this must be for his players F.ucking g.ob****e needs to grow a set of balls. No wonder he is a **** manager!!! I have never heard of a manager give a game up before a ball has even been kicked.
Danny Murphy might have something to say about that...

come on baldy another one of your freekicks please

Hangeland tips United to win quintuple

Brede Hangeland has tipped Manchester United to win the quintuple - but has warned Sir Alex Ferguson's side Fulham won't go down without a fight on Saturday.United are top of the Premier League and are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and semi-finals of the FA Cup, having won the Carling Cup and FIFA Club World Cup this season. They have already humiliated Fulham twice this campaign, hammering them 3-0 at Old Trafford in the league and dishing out a 4-0 FA Cup beating two weeks ago.

And giant centre-back Hangeland says there is no better side in world football - but has told United they shouldn't take victory at Craven Cottage for granted.

"I'm sure they can win everything this season," said Hangeland, whose side are ninth, eight points off the drop zone.

"I don't think any team in the world is better than them at the moment, so why can't they do it?

"But we always try to get something from every game. We know we have to produce something better than the last time they were here if we want to get points.

"It's down to us to produce the performance. But we'll be up for it - we'll be trying to win the game."

Sounds like the Fulham players are creaming up their batty holes for Saturdays 'game'.

its clearly a ploy by fulham to suck up to utd. they're wary of a backlash so are trying to kiss ass beforehand in the hope that it blunts utds anger/frustration etc so fulham arent on the receiving end of a spanking

The way I saw this was that Hodgeson was trying to lessen the pressure on his players, they have had a decent season and they will give the scum a tough game.

Lets be fair its a game the scum should and probably will win, and that has nothing to do with what Hodgeson has or hasnt said.

B/ I don't really see what is so bad. We can't expect Fulham to beat United and at the same time assume (like lots of our fans do) that they should be easily beaten by ourselves. So he is basically calling the odds and until we see the game we have no idea how he has prepared his team or if he will play to win etc.
C/ Why should other teams not play their season the way we see fit when we are happy to play weakened teams at the end of the season when it suits us but others are still fighting for places?
Nice post, I agree with all of it.

How much to do you like Hodgson?! If Rafa hadn't signed his new contract and had left, would you have put Hodgson on the shortlist as a potential replacement?

That's an interesting question. A bit of a fudge answer but I don't think there is an outstanding candidate around and as such I think I would interview Hodgson. I would not be expecting to give him the job but I would be interested to hear his ideas on what could/should be done with the club.

Hodgson is a better manager on the continent. He had a good impact on lesser players but failed with the big egos. He'd be a disater at Liverpool.

I wouldn't let him get within 100 miles of the interview room.
