Some people wanted Xabi sold.

Some people thought he would never get near his first season form again.

Some people thought that after the first season, teams realised they had to close Xabi down and not allow him the space to operate, and this was the reason he wasn’t performing.

The point you picked up on is irrelevant and pointless.

Those threads in the Summer (crticising Alonso and spunking over Barry) made me feel ill. So made up that Alonso has proven he is a far far superior player with far greater potential still.

It’s hardly as if it’s an over the top response like, sack rafa, we will never win the title, we can’t/won’t beat this team, so and so will never be good enough, blah blah blah.

I’d like to say people in glass houses etc, but to reiterate, my point was simply a lot of people were happy to see Xabi go.

I think most of us would have been happy to keep Xabi if we'd have known he'd have rediscovered his form in such style.

I still think Barry has a hell of a lot to offer though and I'd like to have both of them personally and forget about playing Gerrard at centre mid altogether.

Gerrard is more or less a forward nowadays.

Barry could compete with Mascherano and Alonso for CM, or could play LM or even LB. Good quality, versatile and experienced. I'd have him.

You’re boring me and other people by ignoring what I was saying about the topic, and focusing on certain words used.
