I am pretty confident that Pacheco won't make it, which is a shame because he has ability. His finishing is just terrible. He's only ever going to make it as a 2nd striker, but to be sucessful his finishing would have to get a LOT better.
I too, like Amoo as a right winger. He's strong and quick but needs to improve his final ball and desicion making.

I wonder if Pacheco will be an early beneficiary of the reported link up with Almeria. I would think he is in the perfect position to be so.Originally posted by Parr_Zee View PostI am pretty confident that Pacheco won't make it, which is a shame because he has ability. It will be interesting to see what decision is made with the likes of El Zhar who is on the fringes of the first team. I have long said that Rafa will give players longer than many other managers to develop if they show potential. The problem with that is though that it means older players will be getting places on the bench which would otherwise go to younger prospects.
Given the make up of our squad I would think that there are a few opportunities for young players to at least establish themselves as first reserves as we don't have huge attacking depth or a reserve rightback. With Sami getting older I think we will see a few chances for someone as reserve CB next year.
I'm actually quite hopeful of players getting chances. I don't watch them enough to have eny opinion on how any specific young players will develop though."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

i suppose one of Rafa's other downsides to the yoof set up is that he likes versatile players hence if we are short in a certain position we normally have a senior player who can help out in that role, I think we will buy a qualirty centre back, which will leave a squad place for a young un and i do see the wings as potential for youngsters as well........obviously attack but i am sure that will be rectified in the summer as well, which will mean n'gog as back up and maybe a yoof as back up to n'gogOriginally posted by dww View PostI wonder if Pacheco will be an early beneficiary of the reported link up with Almeria. pacheco will make it i think, and hope"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Regarding loan deals, what are the chances of Hamill, Anderson, or even Hobbs still making it at Anfield?Originally posted by dww View PostI wonder if Pacheco will be an early beneficiary of the reported link up with Almeria. I would like to add something more to this thread, but debating the likes of Pacheco is a bit harsh on the lad. We all know by now that Rafa does not like to bring players in until they have fully developed physically and will not write them off if they have ability until they are ready.
Pachecos biggest downfall at present is his sleight build, but he is three years away from being fully developed, if not more. We all saw in pre-season that he has ability, and he's showed enough in reserve games to show he has that extra bit of quality.
But he, as with most, are a few years away. Thomas Ince is only 15 for instance. The biggest problem at LFC is if the young lads are patient enough to wait to be fully developed. It will benefit them in the long run, but most get itchy feet at 19 upwards and feel they should be playing in front of a packed stadium.Forwards.......

I disagree - i think its his finishing. So many times, I have seen him 1-on-1 and he doesnt even test the keeper. At a higher level, it will be more difficult.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostPachecos biggest downfall at present is his sleight build, but he is three years away from being fully developed, if not more.
Michael Owen had a very slight build as a youngster, but he could finish.
