    Chelsea build up

**** United off now, its about the Champions League. I didn't watch them against Newcastle - maybe someone else can fill us in but can we beat them comfortably at home, I mean get a two or three goal advantage? One advantage - No Riise. Anyway, heres what Son of Thief, the Almighty, England through and through, Jean Terry had to say about our finest.

John Terry admits he is dreading the prospect of going head-to-head with "one of the best players in the world" when Chelsea visit Anfield Wednesday.
The England captain has been overwhelmed by the form of Steven Gerrard in recent weeks and is wary of facing the inspirational number eight in the first-leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

"This is probably the worst time to be facing Gerrard," said Terry.

"He's one of the best players in the world, that's for sure. He's in great form at the minute. I'm sort of dreading going there to play him because he is different class.

"With the backbone Liverpool have got – Reina, Carragher, Stevie G and Torres – what a spine that is!

"And Gerrard is the heartbeat of the team, just like Frank Lampard is with Chelsea.

"It's going to be a big clash and we're thoroughly looking forward to it."

Yep, I'm going and I'm not up for it at all.

          Chelsea. Again. Boring.

they're not even showing the game on the telly here, so will have to watch it via stream **** it. it is a important cl match, so hopefully rafa will have the lads fired up, and they can help get the crowd going.

I'm totally sick and tired of Chelsea. Under Mourinho they managed to annoy me, now they just bore me. Would have preferred any other team to them.

Done it before and we'll do it again!

Yeah but it'll still be extremely sweet when we stuff them

Let's hope the crowd really gets up for it on the night as we'll need them for that extra goal to make it 4-0!

I honestly believe that we have the ability to finish the tie on Wednesday night. If we play to our best we can beat them by 3 or 4 goals.
Jellyfish are 97% water or something, so how much are they doing? Just give them another 3% and make them water. It's more useful

Surely Dossena rather than the crowd for our fourth??

Thats very optimistic pal. It will be another very tight and tense affair with our chums from London. I'd take a one nil win all day long.

I think we can all but kill the tie on Wednesday. 2-0 win isnt remotely unrealistic and would virtually kill it off. We'll score at their place.

I'd happily accept defeat if we won the league. The Champions League has become so ****ing predictable, it seems to be losing it's appeal. I'm glad in one way that English teams are successful, but who wants to play Chelsea again?!!! Nobody. It's ****, but I guess as long as four English teams can qualify then four English teams will be there at the latter stages of the competition. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to win the Champions League, but we've been very successful during the last few years - I'd gladly sacrifice our progression for points in the Premiership.

People are only dismissing the CL because we're amazingly still in the title race in April.

I'm not really up for the Chelsea game myself, but come Wednesday night, i will be. And i hope the rest of Anfield is too, because we've still got a huge chance of winning it and even if we dont win the title, being the ones to take the scum's 'champions of europe' title off them, would feel great.

If they win the league and equal our record, what better way to deflate them than to make it 6-3 in Europe?
