To sort this whole Essien marking Gerrard thing, I would go for a Benayoun, Kuyt and Gerrard partnership behind Fernando Torres. All players are capable in playing in each others position and give them the ability to float into those territories. Obviously this would move Essien into left back, right back therefore creating a massive gap in the midfield area and hopefully with the accurate ball, Liverpool can benefit from. This only works as I said with accurate and quick passing into feet.

I would also allow Alonso and Mascherano to strike from distance to test the very wobbly Cech with Torres picking up any loose ends. Even a touch a la Kiko Macheda from the weekend might result in a freakish goal.

This is exactly what I want to see, though the two players mentioned as support could be debatable. As well as Kuyt and Yossi, I reckon a case could be made also for Dossena, Babel or Riera to start.

No way would I have either Dossena or Riera in a total football styled system mainly because they don't have the ability to adapt quickly in other areas of the pitch. Kuyt and Benayoun for me.

Sorry, I agree re. Riera and Dossena - That came out wrong.

If we were to go total football I'd have the two Dutchmen in, Babel and Kuyt.

well - don't know what to expect to be honest - last weeks result was just a bolt out of the blue! - we responded perfectly at the weekend and our form in both europe and the league has been astonishing for the last 6 or 7 games except for that shocker last week,

Realistically surely, 3-1 down away to chelsea is too much to ask! they ****in battered us, and it would take both a monumental **** up by them along with a miracle performence by us to over turn this

On the other hand, though, you have to deep down, have a little bit of belief and just tell yourself "hmm this could happen" - we are Liverpool Football Club and we are probably the one team in the whole world who are capable of pulling something shocking out the hat.....stranger things have happened. - We need to be on fire to do it, and we will need a hell of a lot of luck and something special from somewhere,,,,but who knows, if we somehow could get to half time at 1-0 up - then they players start to believe, chelsea may start to have a few doubts, anything could happen - whats important for us is we have nothing to lose and everything to play for cause not one single person realistically believes we can turn this round! - So lets get behind the team, and ****ing get at chelsea and peg them back from the off, abnd go for it, if ultimatley we get knocked out well I hope we at least have a ****ing good go at the *******s.

I watched the 6 most magical minutes of my life before i left for work this morning.

                I'm inspired 100%

we're gonna do it the liverpool way... 1-3 scoring the final goal with 20 minutes to go and defending likes soldiers for 20 minutes.
Lets just get on with the job and see how it pans out at the end.

What about the other 30 minutes that would then have to follow?

although I have suggested that in order to win the league we be quite cynical about this game, I do think that we are in the great position of not being able to lose - a bit like teams that have been relegated and they play their best football of the season with the pressure off.

And if Rafa goes for it and we score a couple, they will be rocking more than a rock in a rocking chair listening to rock and roll..

I reckon, with nothing to loose we have everything to gain... like many on here... we score early they start to panic... it keeping it tight at the back... and I think with Masch back... we could just do it...

I think Babel's going to start tonight. I'd rather Yossi but I think Rafa may go for the team that played for us in most of last season's knockout games.

Part 2 - score another one before seventy
Part 3 - then go for jugular fir twenty minutes

I think we'll be fine. I really do.

Its a ****in mammoth task ahead of us but if anyone is capable then its us.

i cant help but feel that 3-1 is a dangerous score line for Chelsea. At 2-1 then the game would be tense and tight. At 3-1 they know whats coming but then dont know how to act. Should they sit back and invite a Liverpool side to attack them or do they try to attack and risk being caught out? Its going to be tough for Chelsea.

If we can get that goal first, then Chelsea fans will start to get on their own players backs. Those cunts will implode if we get at them.
