good luck to the club in being a bit more savvy and finding tat that some of us will pay over the odds for, but jesus, would you want to go for a pint with someone like that?
I wouldn't, but lets not pretend that everyone thinks like we do

In the same vein as a similar reply to another of your threads, I think we need to be aware that not everyone thinks like we do. Ie, as posters on an LFC forum

For example, we're one of the most successful and celebrated football teams in the world, yes? So a total neutral, visiting Liverpool (the city) for the first time wants to go and see the majesty that is Anfield*
They dont support us, nor Chelsea, but they wanted to take in a game. So they do, and in the club shop where they want a memento of their time here, they see a scarf depicting the 2 teams they've just seen. As a neutral, why wouldn't they want that?? Makes sense to me

*I just got back from Barcelona and wanted to go to the Nou Camp to see a game. I dont support Barca or Bayern whom they played this week, but I still wanted to go. IF, and its an IF, I wanted a scarf to remember the trip by, there is zero reason why I shouldn't buy a scarf with both teams on.
Maybe the difference is because Liverpool is not traditionally seen as a holiday destination?
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

        Spot on.

If it makes money for the club, then **** it. Why not?

Having said that, if you are a Liverpool fan I would question the half n half scarf with another English club, unless you had an association with both teams.
        Forwards.......

Not got a problem with these scarfs, they are a memento of a tie, somthing to take home with you after the match and put in the souvenier cupboard. What's the big deal? Does buying one make you less of a fan then?

i have to admit, i bought a half an half scarf for each of the home games in 04/05. didntt wear any of them as i had my usual scarf on to make sure we won the games but they made a great decoration around my office at home interspersed with pictures of the game and clippings from the newspapers of me in the middle of the kop singing during the chelsea game.

then i had a baby and lost my office.
            in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again

No ban them, you wear the scarf to show you are a fan of YOUR club, why would anyone want to show their aponants colours.
Maybe we could have half and half shirts and banners, the Kop is not the United Nations.Keep it partizan.

Exactly my point. I dont see anything wrong with them if you are a neutral and want a token of the game of something

Agree, but as above, from a neutral's perspective

Again, thats my point! Not every single person that watches a live game is a fan of one of the teams. Granted, its rare, but sure it happens.

BTW, I thought this was about the club shop selling the scarves, were people actually wearing them in the ground? Thats a little different!

If its half a United scarf I actually think it would make you less of a fan.

I wouldn't judge someone who wore a half-Everton scarf... and as far as I'm concerned Chelsea have never been a rival to me, I just think its a bit naff....

                  but United? Totally unacceptable.

                      embarrassing.

It was only the ones wearing them to the match I was referring to, I don't care what any knobhead does in the privacy of his own bedroom and with his own tissues...

wearing these kinky little scarves to the match is a bit wrong though...
