I went to Anfield with my Mrs & 2 girls 15 & 13, I've told the kids about Hillsborogh & tried to educate them of the facts, the injustice & what a ******* McKenzie is and that squalid paper he represented.
Today for the first time I saw that they suddenly realised what it was all about
They also now understand why YNWA has such meaning
They now also know how privelaged they are to support our special club
They now know why I was crying

Watched some of it as it was broadcast on Norwegian TV2, looked like a worthy arrangement. Brought a tear to my eye, especially when they zoomed in on the lad with the Liverpool shirt with nr. 1 Dad on the back. Such a tragedy, never to be forgotten. I remember watching the scenes on the telly 20 years ago, but it wasn't until after, when all the facts became clear I really understood what had happened.
My thoughts are with the families and friends of those involved

Great post mate.Originally posted by Icon View PostAt 2:45 I put on my shirt and went to our local church - was shut!
I stood outside and listened to nature for 15 minutes and then called my mate who was just about to turn phones off and leave his office for 10mins.
At 3:06 I stood alone outside the church next to a tall cross and listened again to nature for a further 2 minutes, knowing I was far from alone.
I walked home to find my wife watching the news live with a very sad face as she knows what it means to us all.
After a few minutes I rewound the tape and watched it all again somewhat choked...
I know some people do not like fans from outside the city but I honestly believe that we are ALL brothers and sisters when it comes to our club, wherever you are.
May they rest peacefully.

I didn't say much to my workmates, apart from letting them know that being knocked out of the Champions League is somewhat insignificant in light of this anniversary. Even the biggest scum-supporting wind-up knew he had to stay off the matter. I left my desk coming up to 5 past 3 and was outside for 3.06, smelling the freshness of a light rainfall from a few minutes earlier and listening to birds in the sky while thinking of those who have so far gone 20 years without experiencing such small pleasures.

I don't want to besmirch this thread with tales of this disrespectful and thoughtless knobhead, but I feel I have to.
Charles Itandje was seen ****ing about during the service - he was dancing to the 'it was a tragedy' song in a mocking fashion.
Terminate this idiot's contract.

Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Felt a bit fake as there's three massive Reds fans (including me) in our office in Surrey but we certainly wanted to pay some sort of respect. Went downstairs for a smoke at 3pm, had a minute or two's silence at 3:06 and walked back upstairs to carry on.
It's not much but I don't think it hurts to show some respect for such a tragedy.

I watched the History channel programme last night and 2 things streuck me.
1. The dignity of the families compared with how the Police and press reacted.
2. How badly it affected the players, I thought Gary Ablett came accross as very co-herrent and a decent person.
I had tears running down my face for the whole programme, the story of the twin girls was truly heartbreaking. Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.
